  1. "Tire Strut Suspension Modelling" get's some love !!! Finally! Yeay. Boy, have I waited for this! One of the most requested features, if I remember correctly. Now, please bring the F5 remaster back to usable fps in the next patch (like, soon) and I will be a happy camper.
  2. Ah, general settings ! Thank you I was only looking at the F5 specific settings.
  3. Where? I'm looking for that setting too!
  4. Nice update! The new fog looks really great and much better than the one we had so far. But.. > This highly immersive solution, which took more than 8’500 man hours to develop, allows both automatic and manual fog generation and accounts for sensor and AI line-of-sight blocking. 8500 hours is a team of 4 developers working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for one full year. I understand that it's not just the fog, but the effect of it on visual and sensor line of sight, but 8500 hours? I can't imagine that to be right.
  5. I've just searched through all the patch descriptions of 2024. Besides one entry for Reflected's campaign, there is only one single line for the Mossie in there: FIXED: Tail wheel too sensitive I guess all the other updates will come in the next patch then... Right? Cheers, Emacs
  6. Ok, found a solution in another thread: "use clear command on the "red" assignments, reboot DCS, only then reassign them as you wish. That should fix the issue." That worked for me. Cheers, Emacs
  7. I have that dreaded exclamation mark now at the "Throttle" command for the P-51, Spitfire and the Dora. P-47, 109, and Anton are fine. The axis are no longer used at all. The exclamation mark even stays when I assign nothing to the Throttle action at all. I haven't changed anything, neither hardware nor configs over the last months. Just the updates from the last few days. A bit frustrating I must admit...
  8. No matter if WWII or modern jet, the animation where both wingtips are on fire and the plane is spiralling to the ground may be spectacular to look at, but it feels like this one is done way too often. And that's not even asking what could cause both wingtips - and only those - catch fire on any WWII fighter.
  9. Great book !
  10. I love 2.9 ! Flying warbirds over the channel map mostly. I have a Radeon 6800 XT, so no DLSS/DLAA for me. But I can run DCS now with TSAA and pretty much everything maxed out in 4K (native, no FSR needed) and get stable 60 fps over the English coast. The Spitfire cockpit is great and the color grading "CineColor2" matches the scenario perfectly. Very impressed and very happy here !
  11. See above https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330251/ Cheers, Emacs
  12. Hi Nineline, ok -understood and I‘m fine with that. Adding the cliffs in that area and some point in the Future would be awesome ! Thank you! Great map !!! Cheers, Emacs
  13. The area around Le Havre is fine. Lots of cliffs. Coastline looks fine there. But as as soon as you leave Le Havre to the North East the coastline becomes totally flat. Brightened only by the occasional sand pyramid (I guess that's a preview for Sinai ?). Looks to me as if something went wrong with the mesh in that area.
  14. Hi there, first - thank you for the Normandy 2.0 map ! It runs super smooth on my i9900K & RX6800XT. Installation was smooth. Mission editor works fine. The level of detail is incredible! Now on to my point: I explored the French coastline in the area between Dieppe and Le Treport, because I have been there several times in recent years. Today the whole area of the coast is characterized by high cliffs (similar to those of Dover) with some smaller beaches and harbors in between. In the Normandy 2.0 map the whole area is more or less flat terrain rolling smoothly into a single beach strip and then into the sea. To get an idea, google Criel sur mer (is next to Le Treport): criel sur mer – Google Suche Although Le Treport and Dieppe look believable for 1944, the coastline itself does not. At all. Cheers, Emacs
  15. Looks like it is going to happen today:
  16. Hi everyone, the FPS counter appears to have changed with 2.8, if I'm not mistaken. Is there some description of the new FPS counter somewhere? I searched the forum, but can't find anything. Cheers, Emacs
  17. Hi there, I'd like to spend some time with a nice WW II campaign. I don't mind too much, which side, or which aircraft. But I don't want to lead huge formations or whole air wings. I'd like to start as a wingman. I have no problem leading a flight of two later on. Maybe later four planes near the end of the campaign. But that's about as far as I want to lead or coordinate other (AI controlled) planes right now. Any recommendations? Cheers, Emacs
  18. Thank you so much ! That helps a lot I was wondering what that button did... You know, the black one. On the black panel. With a text label in dark grey. On black background. Much better now Cheers, Emacs
  19. That looks like fun !! Well done
  20. Hi there, anyone else getting this from PayPal upon purchase: "name": "RATE_LIMIT_REACHED", "message": "Too many requests. Blocked due to rate limiting.", Not sure if it is me, or if there are too many purchase requests from ED to PayPal. Cheers, Emacs
  21. What a read ! I can recommend spending the few minutes to read through that pilot's account. Cheers, Emacs
  22. Yeah, download started real fast, but it dropped dramatically towards the last two to three gigabytes. Down in 100KB/s range and 1.5 GB to go...
  23. Hi everyone, thank you for all those replies!!! The 3d print looks exactly like what I had imagined (except that it seems to be a two-way switch, rather then a three-way one with a neutral middle position). Virpil's box and the WinWing module look phantasmic but are bit too much for me (dimensions and price too). The VBK module looks nice though and has a reasonable price. But on the Authentikit page I cannot see a gear lever, no matter how long I look. Then there is the Logitech/Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel, which comes with a gear lever too. But I understand it's a pain to connect it to DCS (no plug-and-play. has to go via DCSBios). Cheers, Emacs
  24. Tempting... Thanks for pointing this out to me! A bit too F-18 for me (flying warbirds mostly). Cheers, Emacs
