  1. I see, thanks for this guys. I just really want the pilot to body to be implemented. It's good to see ll these training missions though!
  2. With regards to " CPU revamped DCS engine" - are you referring to Vulcan implementations? Coz I highly highly doubt we will be seeing that any time soon unless I've missed something that came out the horses mouth? So just so I understand the basics - does the quality/ price of a VR headset affect only the visual aspect of the experience or how it runs also? I mean does a more expensive/ better VR headset also make the game run smoother with more details or is this entirely a restriction of the PC and the headset is just all about the visual quality?
  3. Ideally if I can run textures on high and at least shadows set to dynamic (low) that would be fine. That's what I have now. I absolutely can't stand having to compromise for flat shadows only. So is "HP Reverb" same as the G1? So like this basically? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Reverb-Professional-VR-Virtual-Reality-Headset-Windows-Mixed-Reality/143783893691?hash=item217a301abb:g:AjAAAOSw2S1fhHma
  4. I see, thank you. So the jist I'm getting here is that VR is extremely performance-hungry and my graphics settings/ details settings would have to be reduced a fair amount to get the same level of smoothness as on my monitor? Basically for me, if I don't have a silky smooth picture I am not interested. VR or flat screen, doesn't matter. Tbh it's SP missions or campaigns that interest me. Only dogfighting 1v1 in MP. Not sure if this has a big effect or not. I think similarly I am not interested in turning all the graphics and textures to low just to have a smooth experience in VR. So yeah, I'm still not quite sold. And just out of curiosity, what sort of system does one need to have VR running butter smooth with graphics set to high settings for everything? I mean my PC is no slouch exactly. There's only a couple of GPUs that I could upgrade to but I can't imagine those would make big leaps in performance for me. More like a tonne of money for a few extra fps at most?
  5. Interesting. So these Baltic Dragon training missions come with the aircraft already or downloaded separately? I did fly around a bit in the Harrier when it was free back in early April. Enjoyed throwing it around a bit but the lack of a pilot body just put me off enough to put this on the back burner. I'm sure I saw somewhere that Razbam was working on the pilot body?
  6. Hey guys, I'm wondering what is the best VR headset on the market for DCS right now? And for those that have VR technology, is it worth it nowadays? I've tried a couple of VR headsets a couple of years back (not in DCS) and have always been left a bit underwhelmed. The resolution was just too poor for me to ever justify it. Now I see more and more people are using it so I'm wondering how these things run and look nowadays? For reference here's my PC specs: Ryzen 9 3950X NVidia 2080 Super 64BG RAM evo 970 2TB SSD Currently running a 38" screen and can run most maps on high settings smoothly except for densely populated areas or airfields on the Syria map. All other maps run very well under most circumstances (don't own Normandy or Channel Maps). Cheers!
  7. Thanks for the replies.. interesting!
  8. Hey folks, I'm sort of considering buying the Harrier. I'm just concerned about one thing - there's been a couple of times that I've bought an aircraft in DCS and was bitterly disappointed to find a complete lack of interesting training missions, combat missions and campaigns. Is there any good stuff for the Harrier out there before I spend hours learning everything only to find out there's no interesting content to deploy the aircraft? And a second follow up question is - is there a release date for a new pilot body for the cockpit for the Harrier? I find a lack of a pilot body in the cockpit a little detrimental to immersion :( Cheers!
  9. Hey guys, Is there any reason why one would not turn on ECM when engaged in combat? I guess both in the F-15C in DCS and just in general? Also what affect does ECM on have on your opponents? AI are still able to lock and fire on me so I assume it's not really all that effective? Cheers!
  10. I'll have a look, cheers
  11. Hey folks, Has anyone flown the "F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign" in recent times? It's been released a very long time ago so I just wanted to make sure it still works well with all the latest updates before I buy it? I've been watching Bunyap Sims's videos on it from a few years ago and the realism in these missions looks truly epic. So keen to try but want to make sure this campaign still works ok? Cheers!
  12. Yep, fixed it now! Cheers!!
  13. Sorry, problem solved! Please delete!!
  14. Cheers, got you! How does one find dogfighting competitions?
  15. I see some slots have like "-1R" some "-3B" ect... what does that mean?
  16. ah awesome. I'll try that! Cheers!
  17. Hey guys, Where and how does one enter into 1v1 dogfight competitions in DCS? Cheers!
  18. Hello guys, may someone please explain to me how does this dogfights thing work? I'm interested in 1 v 1 online dogfighting guns only. When I connect to this dogfighting server, what is the protocol and how does everything work? How do I find opponents and how do we spawn in front of each other? I don't want to connect to the server just in case I am a bit lost as to how it all works. How do people communicate? Is there a built-in voice feature now with multiplayer or you have to download some sort of teamspeak or whatever? Will be forever thankful to anyone who tells me how this thing works. Cheers!!
  19. Ah gotcha. Awesome, thanks!! Also, forgot to mention another bug - maybe not to do with mission building, I'm not sure, but I tried to refuel with the KC-130 in mission 1 and the boom went straight through the basket and never connected, almost as if the basket was just a ghost if you know what I mean. So I couldn't actually pick up any fuel!
  20. I see, cheers. I've just flown your first mission. Enjoyed it a lot. Just a quick note - in the plane, waypoint 14 seems to be the last one and after that I just ended up following VFR using the map you provided. Also, for mission 2, is there no pdf brief with a map and all the way points like for mission 1? Cheers!
  21. Yes , that's a great idea to have that custom option. In your experience in terms of GPU or CPU load, does it matter if the static objects are just static objects "planes" or actual AI units that are "uncontrolled" starting on the ramp that essentially act the same as static objects? I noticed after populating Tonopah, Creech and Nellis with static objects (combo of static and uncontrolled AI units acting as static objects) that I started getting stutters during flight even if I was flying over the desert with nothing happening. There were no moving AI units. So I can only attribute the stutters to the large number of aircraft that I have places among the 3 bases... I wouldn't have thought that a large amount of static objects causes stutters even when you are nowhere near civilization in the middle of the desert?
  22. Just downloaded the first mission. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this way but I see there's no aircraft parked at Nellis except the flights that taxi out for departure for the mission? Will I break the mission if I add some static aircraft for immersion?
  23. Ah no, don't worry about. Is there any good F-5 missions campaigns on other maps?
  24. This looks excellent! Thanks a million. Will give these a try! Anything like this for the F-5?
  25. Hey folks, I'm trying to find something like the "16-2 F-15C/A-10C Red Flag Campaign" but for either the F-5 or the F-18. Is there any realistic Red Flag campaigns or even just SP missions for these aircraft? Especially searching for something realistic for the F-5 and NTTR. I've downloaded the F-18 BFM NTTR campaign before (which I assume is identical to the F-5 BFM campaign) and was left a little bit disappointed. It sort of felt quite empty... long flight to/ from engagement and it was extremely repetitive so would really love to try something that's using real Red Flag procedures with a bit more activity. Cheers!!
