phant Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 A question to Yo-Yo: does Su-27 flight dynamics is comparable to Su-33 envelope? Canard make big difference? Thanks in advance! Bye Phant
SkateZilla Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Doubt it, they are not Aerodynamically the same. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
JB3DG Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 I think a canard would make a big difference considering that the lift ouput increases with AoA. You will notice though that as AoA increases the canard starts deflecting down so that it doesn't stall or something like that....Aerodynamics brains feel free to correct me where im wrong.
=Thrust= Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) The canard go down when aoa increase yesss, this is to keep the canards to the wind and then the lift is better with lower speed, also you can have more aoa , with that the su 33 can take off with less distance (Kuz). But in fight its like airbrakes, the SU 27 take off longer but its much more better in fight.:smartass: There: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canard_(aeronautics) Edited December 25, 2013 by =THRUST=
Robin_Hood Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Even right now in FC3, they behave quite differently, so I expect it would take a fair deal of extra work to make a Su-33 AFM from the Su-27 AFM. 2nd French Fighter Squadron
sobek Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Canards give the plane negative pitch stability, that is a pretty significant change. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Tatobit Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 A question to Yo-Yo: does Su-27 flight dynamics is comparable to Su-33 envelope? Canard make big difference? Thanks in advance! Bye Phant As far as the Su-33 is concerned there are two limitations at least: g-load and angle of attack. Canards are good but 8g limit (as opposed to Su-27´s 9g) might play the key role for flight dynamics.
ED Team NineLine Posted January 9, 2014 ED Team Posted January 9, 2014 A question to Yo-Yo: does Su-27 flight dynamics is comparable to Su-33 envelope? Canard make big difference? Thanks in advance! Bye Phant I think for development, the work they are doing with the Su-27 and F-15C will build a strong foundation for all future FMs, but as far as the technical data, testing, and such, I am sure there are major differences and challenges like any other aircraft. Raven68 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 By the way, something new about SU27 AFM? Have not heard much on this at all, but my understanding is it's close. FLANKERATOR Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Now THAT's a landing! greaaat work so far guys! Already salivating over these AFM's :D Situational Awareness: https://sa-sim.com/ | The Air Combat Dojo: https://discord.gg/Rz77eFj
Pilotasso Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 They gave us an update about Su-27 AFM not long ago, more recent than the F-15 one. Search is your friend. :) At this time either FM could be released first. Its a close horse race. .
theropod Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) wow what a landing challange! i wish they improve the force feedback landing and take off effects for ffb joysticks. ground ffb effects are missing on dcs series. Edited January 15, 2014 by theropod
sobek Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 wow what a landing challange! i wish they improve the force feedback landing effects for ffb joysticks. it is missing effect for dcs series. Planes with servo actuated control surfaces usually do not have force feedback, so why should ED add one? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Pilotasso Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 because its meant to make you feel on the hands what normally you feel with your butt. :) .
theropod Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 yes like in fsx. for example runaway surface effects can feels realistic for ffb joysticks. only touchdown effect can be enough. please:)
sobek Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 because its meant to make you feel on the hands what normally you feel with your butt. :) So get your GF to spank you when you touch down. ;) It was a conscious decision not to do it so it is very unlikely it's going to come. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
theropod Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 i wished that because i use to it on fsx. and there is good applications for it like fsforce program. little buzz runaway effect could be cool! anyway thanks for answers.:)
