Looking better and better, awsome!!

 

But, there's still a memory leak. I assume it's the AI-aircraft, when having ~40 of them flying around the memory is eaten like candy but when there's just 5 or 6 around it kinda melts away slowly. Would be great if this would be fixed, the main problem (for me now) to host my regular mission.

I've found that its related to sensors. Fortifications dont cause this, ground units with radars/sensor ranges do. The more of those, and or players, the faster the leak. It's been reported though. But yes, you can't run a dedicated server for more than an hour per MB per 10 clients.

Lat night the DCS.exe on our root server reached 31 GB Mem Usage.

 

The server has 32 GB of RAM :doh:

 

You can imagine how awful it was to try and do something on the server with teamviewer.

 

It didn't crash, just slowed down the server.

 

Process killed until next update.

My server is now running with a temporary pagefile of 150GB on SSD.

It can run with a full server for a day or two until the pagefill fills up, then it will crash due to low on memory.. Annoying, but we can atleast run the server for quite some time now

WOW... That's some RAM hunger right there!

 

I was thinking of dragging my server box back out the attic this weekend to have a play around with a DCS server but it doesn't have nearly that much RAM. Maybe I'll hold fire until this is resolved.

 

I'll probably just get the box formatted and ready in the meantime. Does anyone know if you still need a GFX card in the server box running on lowest possible settings?

You could try with the render3d setting set to false in autoexec.cfg.

 

We have it set to false on the 159th Dedi, but yet we ran out of 16GB of memory within 1hr and 20 mins during our regular Sunday squad flight yesterday evening. This really has killed 1.5 multiplayer hosting for us.

 

I'm sure ED are completely aware of the situation and hopefully a fix will be winging it's way to us in the very near future.

Render3D to false wasn't meant as a solution to the memory problem. Hope it gets a fix soon :music_whistling:

Funny thing happened last night. I was running my own little server for script testing, nothing fancy.

 

I flew with a buddy who was in either a UH1 or KA50 and me in a Mi-8. Sometimes an A10 would join, no memory issues that I noticed, server ran fine for an hour before I shut it down.

 

This night, after the update, my buddy flew a Mi-8, another person a KA50 and me in a Mi-8 and the server ran into memory problems within 30 - 45 minutes.

 

Running it with 8Gb of memory.

Memory leak continues on dedicated servers. Slower build up it seems but memory usage going up all the time. Will monitor closely next 24 hours.

Yes keep an eye on it, it is not a simple problem as multiple issues are causing the memory leaks, ED are doing everything they can to find them and plug them.

 

Post your zipped logs folder when you have crashes, the more data ED get the better.

My server memory(committed) went to 50Gb tonight

 

Seems like no improvement at all..

 

The more people in the server, the faster it grows

Same, i'm not hosting server, just doing casual flight on aerobatics dedicated (waiting my M2000 :joystick:). Only with 10 players, few naval units (Kutz....) it can quickly reach 8000Mb, also game is very laggy when ppl join aircrafts and spawn on the taxiway, it can freeze my game for 1 sec or more...the only bad thing with 1.5 version, hope ED solve this soon, apart from that it's a pure happiness.
