Raven434th Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 In the A10,when ground stablized(or whatever you might call it)the cursor is not moving according to the key input. It tends to do a slight dog jaunt to either the top, bottom left or right depending on which way you slew it.It does this for about a half sec then stays on course.makes trying to track a target very difficult.I'm not the only one having this issue.Everyone in our flight of 4 had the same problem.Strange that this doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet on the forum?:joystick:Anyone else noticed this? And yes I am taking into account that the gyro is not stablized and rolls with the aircraft. This happens in stable level flight.:pilotfly: MODUALS OWNED AH-64D APACHE, Ka-50, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, Mi-24,MiG-29 FF, Gazelle, FC3, A-10C, A-10CII, Mirage 2000C, F-14 TOMCAT, F/A-18C HORNET, F-16C VIPER, AV-8B/NA, F-15 E, F-4 Phantom, MiG-21Bis, L-39, F-5E, AJS 37 Viggen, MiG-19, F-86, MiG-15Bis, Spitfire IX, Bf-109K, Fw-190D, P-51D, CA, COLD WAR GERMANY,SYRIA, AFGHANISTAN,NEVADA, NORMANDY, PERSIAN GULF, MARIANA ISLANDS,SUPER CARRIER, WORLD WAR II ASSETS PACK, HAWK T1 SYSTEM SPECS AMD 7600X 4.7 Ghz CPU , MSI RX 6750 12 gig GPU ,32 gig ram on Win11 64bit.
Xjikz Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I agree and had the same problem. Unfortunately I didn't have time to make more tests. What happens is you move the cursor and then lock the cursor. Then when you move it the cursors goes to the wrong direction and then moves normally. (if you try to move it to the left, it will go to the right first, then will move left). It's not in the changelog of the patch, so I wonder if this is a bug or a feature....? Proud to be a [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :joystick::pilotfly::book:
159th_Viper Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Aye - I get it when moving cursor Up/Down. Left and Right seems to be OK. Very slight deviation on my system though. jib Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Yeah this is happening to me to. It makes it much harder to target and almost impossible to target a single vehicle in a tight packed group. shall we put it in the bug thread? Nerdwing Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) I personally use the up, down, left, and right keys on my keyboard to slew the cursor since I dont have a very versatile joystick. I've noticed that there is a slight delay now when I press a button, and the cursor moves very slowly for a brief bit. It sort of comes off as a way to "fine tune" your cursor slewing, but in reality its way too small to matter. EDIT: Same behavior here. Very odd indeed! jspec3 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 hi, just noticed the same thing as Raven434th. (yesterday was the first time I've had a chance to continue my a-10 campaign since installing the patch). very hard to lock anything up.
Xjikz Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Well, any "ED" member can confirm or explain if this is a bug or a new feature ? Proud to be a [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :joystick::pilotfly::book:

Kaiza Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) Hi, I am having this issue also. As someone who almost exclusively flys the A-10, this is very frustrating! It has only appeared since the patch. Moa Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Yes, I have noticed this regression too. Makes using the A-10A hard when you want to quickly lock a SAM before going defensive. This (bad) behaviour occurs consistently, it is not a transient thing.

nomdeplume Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 A workaround until ED fix it in the next patch (:D) is to use an axis controller (e.g. the mouse) for slewing the seeker while it's ground-stabilised. Not ideal but might be doable for some people.
