Those reports are not conflicting. The EFM is already flying, but in a pre-alpha state. That does not guarantee that it will be ready for release.

 

Im not sure I follow. If the plane is already flying with the EFM. Why would they not release it in a pre-alpha state? Even in that state it's probably leaps and bounds ahead of any proprietary SFM...

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Ok but if not ready for release it sounds like it's reasonably close :)

The startup process isnt complete it starts so quick. :)

 

I wondered the same. How is the engine beeing started btw? Does the M2000 has an APU or can it only be started with an external jet starter? Also, why did he start the engine first and while it was spooling up he activated the battery?

 

And what about all the other stuff? He hasn't turned on anything besides the radar. If I think aout all the switches I need to activate in the A-10C, KA-50 or even the MiG-21 it seems odd.

There is a lot between "an EFM that flies" and one that is ready for release. There could still be unfinished features, like weapons stores not causing drag, change in mass from fuel flow, or bugs in edge of the envelope conditions like high angle of attack. Even once the flight model coding is basically finished, it will require tweaking and testing to get it to perform as close to a Mirage 2000 flight envelope as possible. This might be exaggerating a little, but I don't think anyone wants to fight against an unfinished Mirage 2000 that can fly Mach 3.

 

Bringing NTTR to DCS has been around 90% done for a couple years now, and it still isn't ready for release yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninety-ninety_rule

Engine startup process is not so complex.

The only thing you must do, is INS alignment. It takes a time(like A-10C).

I think you folks may be misinterpreting "aldready flying with EFM" part.

 

Matt's video told it is currently with SFM, Zeus said EFM will only be released when they deem it ready (implying it may or may not be SFM instead during initial beta).

 

On the other hand, EFM is obviously in development and, obviously developer's version of it will fly in a few computers, like the developer's own :). After all, bringing a proper flight model (be it EFM, AFM, PFM whichever) to customer flyable state takes way longer than how much it takes to deliver a decent SFM (if there can be such a thing as decent SFM, but I digress :) )

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

Well I don't have sound at work, so couldnt hear what was said in the latest video. Thanks for clarifying that the plane is flying with an SFM currently. I guess Im not going to be preordering after all :cry:

Yes, Matt said in the video that he's showing the SFM, but EFM is under development (6:30).

Some steps may be removed because of secrecy, but it is said on some French forums that there are some errors in the procedure compared to the real checklists.

I'd have held off too if I'd known that it may not release with EFM. If this is what happens I'll be annoyed, as this wasn't made clear.

 

In fact, RAZBAM/ED really should clarify this ASAP.

Actually referring to the "Manuel Pilote" available on the internet (Compressed version of the flight manual) the start-up actions are just like we see in the video. See here

Since you're French I will not translate this for you. But Wags is doing those steps to start-up the bird :). The entire start up procedure is, referring to the manual, mostly concentrated on checks.

This looks like a systems state check list. There is almost no switch operation listed and I seriously doubt it requires to press on the red engine start button only like a douche's supercar

That moving line on the radar is kind of disturbing, it's moving with the horizon but at only half the value.

I never flew the F-15C, I know it has a similar line on the radar display but I don't know if it's behaving the same, anyone can confirm?

If the real aircraft has lots automated systems, it makes sense to use them.

Simplified does not mean unrealistic!

Here is the egine startup sequence from the only manual I have for the m2000 (the link is somewhere in this forum), it's quite short actually:

Please not another Module with SFM.

Just to be clear. I will gladly buy the module at full price once the EFM is released, however I can't commit to a 'maybe' at release. IMO the FM is the most important part of any aircraft's simulation.

What shows the Video, the SFM or the EFM ?

The Flight Modul in this Video is what i mean with "looks good"
