Apache600 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Hey guys, Kind of trying to wrap my head around FC3 and all the content involved. Looks like i have to purchase one of the pre-existing titles first, LoM of FC2, (contract reasons i guess) in order to install FC3. Anyway, why is it that one would purchase the A-10A, F-15C, or SU-25 individually if they all come grouped together in FC3. (and why the SU-25 at all if it's free with the World?) Secondly, and this is kind of unrelated to the title, are the key bindings between all the aircraft in FC3 pretty similar. I.E. i wouldn't have to learn different keys for different planes? Thanks guys! Really looking forward to seeing some responses. - Apache [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
cichlidfan Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 First, LockON is no longer required for FC3. Second, not everyone wants all of the aircraft. Third, the Su-25 that is available to purchase is not the same aircraft as the Su-25T that is included with DCS World. Fourth, some keys will be similar and some will not. Looks like i have to purchase one of the pre-existing titles first, LoM of FC2, (contract reasons i guess) in order to install FC3. It is not longer Required to Have a Pre-Exiting LockOn Product installed to use FC3 (from DCSW Version 1.2.7 and Higher) Anyway, why is it that one would purchase the A-10A, F-15C, or SU-25 individually if they all come grouped together in FC3. (and why the SU-25 at all if it's free with the World?) Some Users are only interested in 1 or 2 aircraft. The FC3 SU-25A is not the same as the F2P SU-25T Secondly, and this is kind of unrelated to the title, are the key bindings between all the aircraft in FC3 pretty similar. HiJack Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I hope each individual module will evolve in to something clickable by time. I will happily buy the individual modules one more time and hope those who buy the modules will have a upgrade price :D
Irregular programming Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 You would probably have to buy the same aircraft again if/when that happens.
joey45 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 You would probably have to buy the same aircraft again if/when that happens. Or a cheaper upgrade thingy.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Apache600 Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Thanks for the replies everyone! that certainly cleared up some questions of mine. Can you guys give me an example of what keys may be similar (landing gear, canopy, etc) and what may not be (Chaff, ECM, etc.) between some of the aircraft. Reason for asking is that i'm interested in building an "all encompassing" control panel for FC3. For CLoD i've built a control panel for the Hurricane, but am now also building one for the BF 110. They have very different lay outs, so they need completely different panels. I was hoping that FC3 might have a lot of similarities between the aircraft, but i'm going to guess that the few differences between them, have rather large functionality differences and are essential. Here's the Hurricane, followed by the BF110 (which is nearly completed, and don't worry, i'll change the colors on the throttle quadrant levers to match correctly) Thanks guys! - Apache [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
karambiatos Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 ooh nice, how do you connect it trough an arduino? and do the rotaries have a maximum turn? A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
Pepec9124 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 F2P is not good term for Su-25T and TF-51D. There's no P2W.
SkateZilla Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) It's available to play for free... Free to Play does not require it to have a Pay to Win Component. it's 100% Free, no P2W Microtransactions, no Freemium Transactions, no BS. I think there are two sides to this . A triple A title (you know, the big titles, CoD, Battlefield, just the big games that , i am sure takes a LOT more resources to make . Literally HUNDREDS of people work on those titles for YEARS . They cost about the same to BUY as a plane in DCS. These are multiplayer games, so in terms of replay value , they are simply GREAT buys . (hundreds or even 1000's of hours of fun, for 50 dollars ! There is no other activity in the world that is that cheap ! ) On the other hand, you have the triple A single player games. They probably cost about the same , maybe a little less than the multiplayer games to MAKE, so you'd think the same price would be fair as well. The problem is though, that in terms of replay value, you get very little. Most big singleplayer "A" titles games cost 50 euro's, but you get only 8 to 20 hours of fun with them. I guess DCS world falls somewhere in between. Costs a lot LESS to make, however, the replay value is also very high. If you ask me, the last one is the most important. I mean hundreds of hours of playtime for 50 dollars, no matter how you spin it, that's simply cheap as dirt  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Apache600 Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 @ karambiatos, I haven't used any Arduino boards yet (just bought my first one the other week, and have started tinkering with it. Hope to get some cool stuff out of it!) I've been using LeoBodnar stuff for these CLoD panels. They work pretty well, but are kind of pricey. http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
