AMD Catalyst 14.6 (Beta) Drivers

Catalyst 14.6 should hopefully be available from sometime tomorrow, i have seen various posts around suggesting this

Catalyst 14.6 with Eyefinity 3.0

 

Although AMD team does not actually call it Eyefinity 3.0, they do referrer to it as ‘third major update to multi-display solution’. Eyefinity 2.0 already brought some flexibility to multi-display configurations. The latest update will allow you to mix displays with different resolutions. Imagine you have one 1600p display and two 1080p. It works great in Windows, but games do not support it (at least in fullscreen mode). To overcome this problem AMD developed a new technology that will allow you to either expand the area which is displayed, fill it on each display (which pretty much what we have today), or fit it to adequate proportions.

 

New Eyefinity will also let you align the bezels the way you want it (top, center, or bottom). Eyefinity group can now be created with a single click, and it doesn’t matter what resolutions your monitors are using."

 

i'm hoping that there might be another FPS gain to come :D

injecting the DLLs will allow you to check performance, but if you want to use the new features of Eyefinity, you need to completely install everything.

 

I know we have a Few guys with A larger Center display and smaller side displays...:music_whistling:

I need to go through my AMD Drivers Archives and re-extract all of the DLLs,

Package them up in Separate RARs,

Upload them here in Separate Sticky post with notes on which DLLs are recommended, Notes, etc.

 

Along with instructions on how to use them, Every time I play online with AMD Users I end up making 4 or 5 user's day by telling them to use 14.4 DLLs in the /Bin/ Folder :)

 

Pretty sure we can do the same thing with nVidia drivers

Hopefully another FPS boost.

 

Question for those in the know. Does running Xfire/Trifire allow one to run AA supersampling? ie with one 7970 at 1600p supersampling is nice but FPS is too low. Will adding in a 7990 help?

You sure? Looked like landscape best fit expand tricks only... Ie fixed center monitor adaption.

Pretty sure one guy does have 1080P Portrait - 4K LandScape - 1080p Portrait working at 6000x2160 (140 px hidden from top and bottom of side panels.)

 

 

Edit: Anandtech is right, rotation is still a problem.

 

Guy I was talking too uses an inline box to change the EDID so windows and AMD CCC for that matter believe it's a 1080x1920 Native Screen.

Known Issues

Running Watch Dogs with a R9 280X CrossFire configuration may result in the application running in CrossFire software compositing mode

Enabling Temporal SMAA in the AMD Catalyst Control center under a CrossFire configuration when playing Watch Dogs will result in Flickering

AMD CrossFire configurations with Eyefinity enabled will see application stability with BattleField 4 or Thief when running Mantle

Catalyst Install Manager text is covered by Express/Custom radio button text

Express Uninstall does not remove C:\Program Files\(AMD or ATI) folder

i just installed 14.4 but after that all the text on my screen are blurry :angry:

windows cleartype does not help to get back sharp texts - what i had with my latest 13.12 ccc :(
