I would like to see little more damage in cockpit

1= oil splash on canopy glass engine take hits near canopy leaks oil.

2= bullet holes in cockpit and canopy glass

3= smoke and fire effects inside cockpit.

4= leaking fuel on ground when strafed by enemy fighters if fuel tanks are hit.

self sealing tanks only take so many rounds.

hopefully these fully come along when the new dx engine is ready.

Hopefully EDGE will truly make it all possible *fingers crossed*

some others I'm hoping to see down the road...

- Less vulnerable governor - it's like OUR governor is sitting on the cowling. / reduced chance that AI marksmen hit the gov on the first attempt.

- Start-up throttle position issue

- Visual damage on AI that actually equates to crippling damage. How many times have you seen an AI torn to shreds and leaking everything possible but continues to fly like a champ.

- Battle damage that looks like bullet holes and not shrapnel.

- Reduced fire effect for wing damage.

ill add also a few:

-elevator,rudder&aileron damage...its already there, but never happens during combat damage, but only during crashes...

-stuck engines on AI too-again, ive seen it quite often on fw190s but only in one certain online mission...never in offline play

-flat or burst tires-i think the physical damage model is there, but the visual part is lacking

-shot off wings, without fire!i do not believe, that in reality every single broken wing catched fire

-random engine failures...i do not believe that p51 engines where that vulnerable as they are in our sim.please dont get me wrong, i like an advanced engine model, and i like the fact, that you cant just go WEP all day long in every situation....but even if, or i might say, especially if you try to treat the engine carefully, the engine failures seem too often and too random.

now after ~2years of intensive flying in the dcs p51, it seems to me, that there is something wrong..if you let the engine go full military power, most of the times its ok....the chances of engine failure seem to increase, if you throttle back to max continuous power setting between dogfights...

and better never ever use WEP, or the reliability of your engine is like playing russian roulette, with 5bullets

i dont know, ive never flown a p51 in real life, but it seems that if the merlin were that vulnerable, p51s wouldnt have been selected to escort b17 all the way to central europe and back...

Cold engine / Low RPM modeling. (stalling, sputtering)

Smoke when starting the engine.

Wind on ground from propeller. (dust like from helicopters)

Another pair of .50 cals.... A big radial engine... And a massive turbocharger behind the cockpit! ;) can't wait for March to get here.... Hope that P-47 module is on time!

Thicker propeller blades, less gun smoke, oil splash on the windscreen, and I would ask for an improved sound but diveplane has fixed that for us!

@DavidRed: are you watching the temprature gauges? If you don't let them overheat, the engine will be fine. I don't have a problem with the engine blowing up like I used to because I just let it cool down every so often in a fight by bringing the power back a little.

And the cruise engine setting for escorts was about 22 inches of manifold and around ~1800RPM? Not entirely sure but it was somewhere around that.

well, yeah, i do watch the gauges, and its not new, that the engine still have failures even with all the temps in green.also, it seems more safe to just leave the engine at 3000rpm at all times.switching between max continous or max cruise and full mil seems to kill the engine quicker then if you just leave it at 3000rpm and only play with manifold pressure.of course im talking about the engine beeing in healthy temp ranges.

Add to the better sound (Diveplane covered low RPM grumble and flybys, nothing else), thicker prop blades, engine smoke - the removal of:

The aerial underneath by the wheel covers, the twin aerial on the back and the little squiggly (vhf?) aerial embedded in the tail?

For a true WWII bird.

its the game engine handles distant audios , newer dx engine we should see many new audio features come online.

over all my audios greatly improve the simulator all round.

many new additions been added to P-51D TF-51D 2.0 new wind effects and ground vibrations etc, new gun sounds and incockpit turbulence.

agreed, I use all your jet sounds too

Lets hope for new sound engine possibilities with EDGE.

If wheel rotation sounds on takeoff / landing you refer as the turbulence, IMHO this is way too loud and overpowers even engine sounds which to me is unrealistic. Probably the main reason I'm not using your mod.

In-cockpit gun sounds are perfectly fine, but the external I dislike.

Tone down the wheel rotation sounds, lower the frequency of the engine (not prop) sounds and you will have a winner.

Also, have you considered improving the starter sounds?

already have a winner.

try audio sliders to suit your tastes incockpit? many other folks have and enjoy the noise cancel setup I provided in thread.

I personally like the cockpit nice and loud with all the sounds playing ,how I set the sounds up as if a mic was placed in the cockpit.

its how the game engine handles the sounds, if I was to tone down the freq anymore then at idle to low rpm speeds it would sound to low.

until we get improved eax audio effects. cant do much more about it atm.

audios over all are very close to the real aircraft in general and greatly improve the flight experience,

many people in this community enjoy my work, so I cant help u much more if u don't like them.

starter sounds imo are fine.

Fair enough. I haven't tried your other sound mods so I can not comment on them.

About the starter - I was referring to the loudness. Since you increased the volume of priming the engine.

... notice the engine audio gets quiet while in the cockpit if I look left or right, it will also get quiet when the gun fires. Is there a fix for this?

Getting that as well.

I guess I'll have to wait for EDGE and hope they do something about the sound engine, if this is the best what can be done at this moment.

Better start up sounds would be nice also, well sound in general. I love the P-51D, any improvements would be very welcome indeed buy me.

plenty of videos on my utube page to enjoy, again thx for your comments. keep in mind audios are a lot of work and it takes some time to produce them close as possible to real life counterparts.
