ED Team NineLine Posted June 20, 2014 ED Team Posted June 20, 2014 That Steve Hinton really gets around... Love seeing all these old warbirds popping up in my area, still need to get out to Comox to see the Spit they are restoring. http://www.globalaviationresource.com/v2/2014/06/17/aviation-news-de-havilland-mosquito-b-35-vr796-cf-hml-flies/ Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
outlawal2 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Wow beautiful restoration... "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Griffin Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Seems like warping happens in real life too. Nice plane and great sound!
joey45 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Wow beautiful restoration... No mosies from the war exists. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. OutOnTheOP Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 No mosies from the war exists. Was this one rebuilt from blueprints, or just built "close enough"?
ED Team NineLine Posted June 21, 2014 Author ED Team Posted June 21, 2014 Was this one rebuilt from blueprints, or just built "close enough"? It never saw action, not even sure it left North America. But its an original... I wanna say it was manufactured in Canada, but I might be wrong. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
joey45 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Someone made one in the Americans yes but none 'from the war'.. they were made from wood.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. ED Team NineLine Posted June 22, 2014 Author ED Team Posted June 22, 2014 Just looked it up, looks like it was built in 1948, used in the late 50's early 60's for terrain photographing in Canada... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

ED Team NineLine Posted June 24, 2014 Author ED Team Posted June 24, 2014 Nice to see another of these beauties fly, hopefully one day I'll get to see one in person... Yes, this one is very close to me, but its part of a private collection so I am not sure how easy it will be to see. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Suchacz Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 ...from another Mosquito thread Omg, she's such a beauty, my favourite WWII plane. I really hope, that someone will choose it to develop this wooden wonder for the DCS... It's a pitty that there are so few of them airworthy nowadays. How many? Two? Three? Per aspera ad astra! bongodriver Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 2 flying but I think Kermit weeks has a 3rd flyable but it's a hangar queen.
Picksplitter Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) I take care of Victoria Air Maintenances' fire suppression concerns and got in there today. Here's a few answers to some of the questions above... The aircraft is in Vancouver, in a private collection (as Sithspawn mentioned) and the owner says she'll never fly again. So sad. It's unlikely to be seen again as this collector is very private. 100% original restoration. 2 aircraft tech's, 40+ hours a week for 5 years. $1000.00 an hour for fuel. $5000.00 an hour for insurance. 2 Mosquito's air worthy world wide... one in New Zealand, cobbled together from 3 different airframes, and this one in Vancouver. Knowing this makes me feel fortunate in watching the restoration over these past 5 years. Should have known how sensitive the owner was... they (Vic Air) wouldn't let me take any pics after the 1st. year. But I did get to see her fly! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2095172#post2095172 Edited June 25, 2014 by Picksplitter Acer AMD Phenom II x 4 840T, 16 gb. memory, Zotac GTX580 Amp2 3GB, 40" Philips tv, Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog, Saitek Combat Rudders , Cougar MFCD's w/ 21.5" LG monitor, DSD Track Master button box, 3rd. century Roman field comanders helmet w/ Track IR 5, Windows 7 Home P. “God is a comedian, playing to an audience that's afraid to laugh.”... Python Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 That's a shame, it seems like a lot of effort to not fly it? When I win the Euro I'll make sure mine is flying every display it can for the world to see. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Python Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Well I guess, but presumably making it airworthy took a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money. Just saying it is a shame after such effort it won't be flying. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team NineLine Posted June 25, 2014 Author ED Team Posted June 25, 2014 The Fw 190D-13 in Everett Wa is air worthy as well, but they dont fly it for this reason, although its open for all to see as well. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Rangi Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 There is currently a kickstarter running to raise funds for a documentary about the restoration of the Mosquito by Victoria Air Maintenance (Victoria, Canada). Worth a look if you are as crazy about the Mossie as me. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
