I guess, Bluedrake42 is too shy to share it with us by himself, but when his personal crusade came to a naught on this very forum 1-2 days ago, he threatened to use his might as "youtuber" to support his cause.

This is the result:

He does know that KS is a gamble......... Doesn't he?

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

"Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.."

But then again we don't know what happened behind the scenes...

The problem is that most lay people have zero knowledge of investment risks and whatnot. They never had to actively and directly invest in any business in their lives.

When Kickstarter started up, it gave lay people an easier way to directly invest in businesses all over the world. But these lay people still have poor knowledge of how investment actually works, so they mistakenly treat Kickstarter as some kind of store where you can order or buy things. They feel burned when something doesn't work out, as many business ventures often don't, because of their (the Kickstarter investor's) ignorance about what they were doing in the first place.

While technology like Kickstarter can give people more power and access, when used ignorantly, they just hurt themselves.

Here we go with the witch hunt.

You want to know why he's "too shy to post here"?

Because of people like him:

Personally, I would rather put my bet on "because the tantrum he threw here was not perceived too well."

It carries risks, but defining it as a simple gamble doesn´t do it justice.

Unless this is cynicism, I would hold up that Kickstarter should most of all involve reciprocity and openess, ideally.

About the video:

Sadly, Kickstarter is no insurance against the risks of any investment.

RRG created content for which the rights were sold after they ran out of money. There is such a huge gap in this chain where no conrete details of the transfer are known. RRG went bancrupt. They had much higher additional funding goals than what they actually achieved.

The Missing Step in that Video.

Company A Spends the money raised on KickStarter.

RRG Spent the Money, Not Eagle Dynamics.

People need to stop rage posting without knowing all the facts.

SO.. Going by logic in the video, Owners of FSX should be getting Lockheed's Prepar3d for Free.

Since they bought the I.P. and hired most of the ACES Studio Staff,

Folk need to read the kickstarter again. Read the part about where the kickstarter money was going to go.

The money being raised is only a portion of the development budget. The majority of the programming, some aircraft art, and more, are the costs that the team is funding internally.

The initial kickstarter goal is needed to fund a longer more extensive beta testing period for the game, giving all its components extra polish, and to make the game landscape more alive by creating a larger variety of ground objects and vehicles, and spending more time to hand-craft various historical areas such as accurate recreations of more coastline villages, important bridges, unique airfields, and more.

That's what the kickstarter money was for.

Now re read the June update

The vast majority of funds needed to finance this project have and will continue to come from Eagle Dynamics (not Kickstarter).

Have and will continue to come from ED.

Good Grief

Sorry guys, I hate to lock this as well, but this will just end up going around in circles and everyone has an opportunity to express their views, even bluedrake who chooses to make false statements, left out key details and/or simply is being spiteful after a moderator made him change his sig that same day.

On a personal note, I am worried for this project, more so than ever, ED is only going to put up with so many headaches before they scrap the entire thing and cut their loses... chances are we wont see much more than the 190, if we are lucky 1 or two of the other aircraft, but ED wont be required to put much effort into it... we could kiss the environment of 1944 goodbye, least to the degree we all hoped for. This isnt a threat, but I hope people take more time to see what has already been posted and try and understand what is happening before getting so carried away. My PM inbox is always open.
