ok, I'm pretty novice with this damn plane but it's pretty frustrating when I put 29 rounds into the 190 and make him look like (see attached) and he takes out my engine with 4 lucky rounds. arghh.

Much more practice I needs.

Graphical representation of damage doesn't really reflect actual damage. Also the 190 currently doesnt appear to be effected by damage unless you rip a wing off or set it on fire :(

On the other hand player p51s certainly are effected by damage and 20mm cannon ruin your day rather quickly!

Just like the previous poster said, do not stop shooting at the FW-190D9 until it's:

1) On fire.

2) Depleted of a wind or a good chunk of it.

3) Flying without a pilot.

If not at least one of the conditions above is met, he may shoot you down.

Fly safe! :pilotfly:

Thanks. The 29 hits to his 4 hits was actually in the mission log. I wasn't going by just what his plane looked like. Anyways, as you say, I guess I'll have to go for total destruction next time.:joystick:

Yes this is a problem. I've lost count of how many times I've put over 100 rounds into the 190, black smoke and coolant leaking out of her but she still flies around like nothing has happened. Yesterday I shot off her entire tail section and then to my horror when I came back around she had regrown a new tail and still flying perfectly! I hope once the proper 190 model is out it will be fixed.

I've put in close to 200 rounds into one before without it going down and it can be frustrating. The quickest I've brought one down was like 54 rounds but we'll see what changes are made with the Dora release.

Best tip I can offer is to learn some patience and try to only pull trigger at harmonized range. Historically it should be about 1075-1100 yards but I'm not sure if that has fully been confirmed in DCS

^ Whoa, are You sure it's yards and not feet? Because that sounds about three times too far away :D. All manuals for US and British planes I recall say about typical convergence of 250-300 yds.

dude, new tail? You should have posted a track!

thats a well known(well hopefully also by the devs) issue, which is there since the introduction of the AI fw190...sometimes they have up to 5tails i think....now somebody say german technology wasnt advanced back then:lol:

to the OP:my tip, just dont let it go....after some practice you will find its pretty easy to kill it even when it got multible tails.

I think that should be feet, otherwise you shooting from almost a miles away and you never going to shoot down that pesky 190 from that distance :)

I've shot down the 190 dozens of times and the most frustrating thing for me is that sometimes it only takes a dozen rounds to rip off a wing or other times I can nearly empty all my guns into it and it flies with no problems. Even sometimes it will just decide to run away and out climb me at a faster speed than I can manage even with WEP while leaking fluid and black smoke coming out of it's engine.
