    • I don't know, yet. Too little time to fly her (or other reasons? Explain?)

What's with the fanboi crap? Didn't vote because of it, but for the record

1) yes, I like her

2) no, I don't consider myself a fanboi

Allright, sorry, I was not aware that the people here have no humor.

I must commend the work of BelSimTek. I know it is not an easy task to complete an aircraft at the high fidelity DCS level. All in all this company has done that 3 times over. To you guys, I say thank you so very much. Even though the Sabre isn't my cup of tea, I may purchase at a later time to support your companies efforts because we need more like you. That era of ac isn't in my interests. As many in the DCS community, we are awaiting your DCS level AH-1G Cobra. In keeping with your high standards, I'm sure it will be outstanding. Holding my breath.

DCS: AH-1G Cobra beta-version to be released in first half of 2014 (Can't Wait)

I love the Sabre. Didn't really expect to, but I do. It is starting to become my favourite module - and it's not even out of beta yet! Great job Belsimtek!

Oh, I am very happy with the Sabre. She is a very capable ride and a great introductory jet, for a jet newbie, like myself. The Sabre will teach me a lot about the unique flying characteristics and behaviors of transonic swept wing jet aeroplanes. I also need to learn all manner of basic skill sets, such as ndb navigation. The Sabre is a perfectly good platform for learning such basic skills.

I like the Sabre im not a fanboy but as soon as the MiG15 comes as a module i will probably never touch her again but its fun as long as it lasts

The Sabre.

Do you like this aircraft? I am not talking about how it is implemented in DCS, but how she handles, how she "feels", what she "does" and what she does not ...? And if you don't mind, then please explain. :o)

The jet flies nice. Waiting for the Mig of the era to also come out. Putzer has created a mission in MP on his server.

I read about McConnell in 8th Grade in a biography of the guy the school library had on the shelf. His military exploits sounded like fun and is the main reason I joined the military, though not as an aviator.

Is sad to see many F-86's as playground toys that I remember in the late 1950's. One still exists near me in Monroe, NY , USA. But I suppose better than making beer cans from the scrapped ones.

Does anybody else observe this?

The Sabre does behave a little strange when you kick her into fast and sustained roll movements, most notably at higher speeds (exceeding 450-500 kts IAS). The roll movement is not sustained evenly, but is cut off instead with virtually no effect of the ailerons, despite them being fully deflected. It doesnt´take long to recover from this, but I struggle to understand how both ailerons can become ineffective at the same time during a straight roll. Am I just too sloppy with regard to my AoA which inceases until the ailerons have less and less effect?

Yes, seems like she compresses and locks up after going too fast, but not as bad as some models of the P-38. I would think there has to be material available researching the topic as test data and mishaps. I just try to slow down using some bag of tricks to get her into a better, controllable envelope if I overspeed.

The jet is still early beta.

She's the only fast mover I own in DCS, feels odd to get over 500 knots.

I'm with you here! I'm a ground pounder by experience.

This is a great plane - very agile, and a lot of power. Too much power really as is can get away from you very quickly (oh hey! I'm doing 550 knots, how did that happen?).

The A4 gun sight is really making me appreciate how much laser ranging has helped me in A2G before though! The manual everything in bombing and rocketry is almost Russian ;) I like it - but at this level of inexperience I consider it a win if I manage to hit the ground with A2G ordnance, much less what I was aiming for :p

What has that got to do with humour? If you want a serious answer to a serious survey, write it in that light. If you don't, then what exactly was your point?

Omfg. I wanted to hear opinions, not to produce a scientific essay.

What comes next? Pointing out my spelling and grammar mistakes that do not meet your quality standards of the chit chat forum?

Bearing a grudge are we? I was stating the obvious. Do you really think your wording was a good choice? If you want opinions, ask for them in a constructive, mature way, we are not all bois here. A no-brainer really, don't you think?

Yes, as you manage to let you attitude shine through often enough in between the bearable postings you make, that ignoring it becomes difficult for me.

What I really think? I think, the results are interesting and entertaining to see and read - despite or because of my choice of words. If you feel appalled by my wording, well, then ignore the poll and don't answer it. An other no-brainer really, eh?

His wording has no bearing on the message he's portraying. It isn't a hard poll to answer. You're getting too excited for something so trivial. :music_whistling:

I doubt that!

Flagrum, I was wondering if you were an English teacher with a minor in the German language given your great editing skill in another thread concerning the pre-publication flight manual for the Fw 190. Really nice job at that. Maybe a German language teacher with an English minor?

The guy that taught me stick welding was born in Berlin about 1943. He came to USA in the early 1960's. He told me everybody in non-Communist Germany, his era, English was a second language at least being able to read it. He spoke it rather well. He was a guild trained pattern-maker for metals.

I like her, shes nice to fly and easy to handle. But i also belive she'll wear out fast, im a fan of more complex systems and A/C.

@DieHard: Alot of Germans speak English, also considering that only 16 million of the 80 million Germans lived in the soviet controlled part of Germany, even the older generation often has basic English knowledge. Today everyone i know speaks English.

Lol, that is as flattering as it is off topic ... but I am neither - not even a welder! :o)

I am just a guy who happen to have to deal with technical literature that is mostly available in english for his day by day job as software developer. That just helps a bit to keep one's language skills somewhat up to date after finishing school. Then the posibilities of the internet also help - playing MMO and other online games and hanging around in forums like these ... for the last 20 years ... :o)

But in contrast, my spoken english is, due to lack of practice, awful. I mean, really awful ... which is sad because that makes me shy of using teamspeak and the like (which could provide me some practice ... argh, vicious circle ...)
