Mirrors' New Feature?

I just realized the mirrors' advanced reflection feature, last night. I can't tell how I'm surprised. :D

This works only in Mustang and Sabre, as far as I know.

 

Have we this with v1.2.9?

 

 

 

 

For those who don't know this feature; You remember DCS mirrors reflects one direction to us like just a picture on mirror.

Now, in Mustang and Sabre, we can see other directions according to our angle of see. :P Sorry for bad English.

I started with 1.2.4 and it has always been that way for me.

Anyway, I think ED will eventually change other cockpits to have mirror reflection be properly animated like this also.

(I didn't test the Mustang yet even if it's ready to take off in my main menu)

 

We'll probably see that feature in the other aircrafts. (I vote to fit that mirrors in the Su-27 as fast as possible too ;) )

FC like aircrafts have not such advanced reflection mirrors. I observed this behaviour some time ago, but did not gave it too much importance as I mostly close mirrors to save FPS :D

I love running mirrors "on" in the F-15, it looks so much better in the cockpit and I find it to be very cool/immersive/realistic to have them functioning like actual mirrors. Unfortunately it usually means a drop of ~7-10 FPS, putting me closer to 30-35 FPS instead of the 40-50FPS range. Hopefully EDGE will take care of that.

How to try it in Su27?

As Abburo said, this is only for P-51D and F-86F at the moment.

 

I turn off mirrors to gain FPS, only in critical times, but generaly I use them. It's interesting that somehow I didn't realize this in P-51D, but it was very easy to realize in Sabre... :huh:

That's awesome; never noticed before as always fly with mirrors off. Who'd have thought a computer generated shiny surface could be so pleasing (although 20 years ago I was happily rendering reflective spheres on checkerboard floors, so I'm easily pleased).

I didn't see new about that. Same shape to me and Flaming Cliffs has no advanced reflection feature.
