Hi Krupi i will check my data when i get home.

Bomber paint is different then fighter paint. Also this picture was taken in March 1941. Paint supply was good quality then and RLM was documented correctly.

End of the war the RLM was a mess and patterns were not by rules of documentation anymore. As seen on weird patterns of FW190D's same goes for 109's G's and K's.

The thing is at that time ("1945") lots of aircraft didnt even receive primer layers anymore and came out just with the paint that was available often seen with still rough lines where seams are and red putty showing through.

Paints were mixed and noone can tell wich factory or supply it was made from because they used what they had at that moment.

Even paint and colours that were ment for bombers were used wich shows the lack of materials.

Most FW190D9's have been oversprayed by that time and you can see patchwork. Sometimes numbers were badly handpainted over.

I think Matt is playing safe looking at the time and period of the war and what was for hands. RLM 82 looks way to green in my eyes.

Might wanna check the different tables and see already 5 different versions.

Only thing that shined i think should be the Aluminium of underwing.

I think Mainstay right. I have not seen any samples of different luster from the Germans. The only thing I expected some differences at the joints. Where could emphasize the edges and because of this paint could be more matte. I tried and postponed. Now he even pick up an acceptable gloss on their skins. And make a difference in the colors on the map SPEC, but they are almost imperceptible.

And yet it would be good artists to come to the same pattern RLM in the RGB. While no single core 100 percent satisfied. I even asked at one forum where there are specialists, but so far there is no clear answer.

Maler RLM82 is a lot closer than mine, please could you share the RGB values that you have used? (I understand if you do not want to, I have already wasted a lot of time attempting to get it right).

Part of the problem is that the modellers mix paints to get the right colour for the scale of the model, we have the same issues but with what it looks like in game. It is really annoying me, the other colours I am reasonably happy with (even the RLM 84? Light green) but the RLM 82 is just eluding me :(

Perhaps this helps; R:56, G:59, B:50 (source: http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/page-RGB-colors-Germany.html).

Looks like "Braune 4" made it out alive after all ;)

Don't worry about glossiness.

Yes, I agree with this, would be nice if the community could agree on RGB values for all colours. A swatch set in Photoshop could be made and shared to those that want it.

They're too busy in the kitchen :D

But indeed, I would also like to see a skinning tutorial.

A few comments from me. Too saturated some colors RLM

Completely removed the rivets. WIP? But too stressed undoing. Unnatural.

And write the correct Werk number of this machine. At the bottom of the wing. As long as you do not feel that there is metal. Try to play with the texture of metal or add noise. Only carefully, do not overdo it.) And too shiny.

Thanks for the feedback Maler.

Which RLMs, the number colour and RLM 81 Brown?

I forgot I had hidden the rivets, good spot.

Thanks for the advice :)

yes brown. Too bright and dark. And what then plays on the wing 75/82 or 83? A bit confusing that the same tone.

This is a good one.
Thanks! I found that tutorial too, and it's excellent to get a basic understanding of the steps and tools used.

I'm looking for some pro tips, as I read how they would split the skin template into 4 parts (to have better control?), use a bare metal template, etc.

I'm sure for the most part it comes down to artistic (read: Photoshop) skills.

Uploaded WIP Version to Dropbox ...
Had several easy P-51D kills in it tonight, but landing remains difficult and I ruined several. Beautiful WIP already, thanks! Edited by Hans-Joachim Marseille

Thanks for the feedback :)

Its seems Maler has set the bar very high, he has allowed me to use some of his work (Spinner and Colours) in my own skin which has been updated to include the original rivets, Spec and Normal Maps.

When I have the time I will overhaul the template with my own specs and normals maps but I am still learning the ropes :)

Here is the latest WIP, please give me your opinions :)

The nose-color seems to have improved nicely. Overall more details. Nice. The prop has now a somewhat greenish tint, which doesn't look as nice. I guess that came with that updated spinner texture.

Overall, very, very nice. :) Thanks for the early access. :)
