Devrim Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Hi. Is it me or something was changed on forum? (I use Chrome). I'm okay about text font change - I love it, but at the same time I see underlined links everywhere! To me it's not comfortable and causes bad looking. EtherealN Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 When you say underlined links, do you mean like this: A link. Links being underlined has been the standard internet way to indicate a hyperlink since the World Wide Web was invented, pretty much. I do agree with you regarding the listing of forum sections, though. I'll see if I can bribe someone into changing that. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Sel94 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I don't think it's just this forum, I use Chrome too, and I think there was a recent update to it that changed the default font. I've noticed font changes across many different sites after an update(especially sites with Japanese text, where the default is now equivalent to comic-sans, why would they do this). After a bit of searching, yep it looks like a recent update did have things to do with changing fonts, so it's not just you.
Devrim Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 ...Links being underlined has been the standard internet way to indicate a hyperlink since the World Wide Web was invented, pretty much...I of course know that. :) I don't think it's just this forum, I use Chrome too...Glad, I'm not alone. :) This is what I see right now. ED Team const Posted September 4, 2014 ED Team Posted September 4, 2014 It is because of the Chrome new update with DirectWrite fonts. You can switch off them in the settings "chrome://flags/#disable-direct-write". http://superuser.com/questions/803637/how-to-disable-directwrite-in-google-chrome-37
Devrim Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Thanks for replies frineds, and thanks for hint Const. And I think I should apologize. It's interesting, now I'm at work, (using Chrome) and everything seems OK. Main page is same as Cichlidfan's image. So EtherealN, what funny (or annoying) is that all links are already underlined. I didn't notice it until a change occurred on my view. At home, I see no pixel distance between text and underline. At work I can see 1 pixel blank. I realized this was all issue for me. :P Shame on me! I've taken people's time. Sorry.
