I was wondering if there is a list of the systems that have limited use?

Example, time of radar use, EGT limits that are modeled.

So far I have read that the air brakes and radar have limited use before they run out. What others system can I mess up?

Good question, I'd like to know that too....before I break something.

AMD FX-6300

8GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE LP DDR3 RAM

SAPPHIRE HD 7790 DUAL-X O/C 1GB DDR5

2TB SEAGATE HDD

WIN7 ULTIMATE X64

So far we have,

Limited air supply for braking, possible other functions?

Limited radar use. 20 to 25 mins of cooling.

Gun requires a loading charge and for unjaming. Only 3 try's.

I know there's more. Come on mig 21 experts.

engine relight attempt is limited, less than 5 if I remember correctly.

Less than 5 what? I thought the relight was only limited by airspeed and altitude.

Edit: Do you mean there are only 5 attempts to start the aircraft?

limited by engine oxygen supply system once AIR RELIGHT circuit breaker is closed (also time limit for AIR RELIGHT circuit breaker being kept closed)

Correct.

As for the OP: Pretty much everything in the aircraft, from the engine to the electrical system have certain stressful conditions modeled, and these will accumulate over time. Decay, sort of. :)

If I remember right the second afterburner use is limited to 4 minutes continued use and can only be used under 9,000 meters.

I should check the manual to give you the right numbers.

But even so you couldn't use it to much longer, you will run out of fuel...

AKA TANGO-117. DCS Modules: most of them, proficiency: only a few at a time. The most crucial aspect of a simulator is its realistic physics and precise aerodynamics, accurately reflecting all flight conditions.

It's "limited" to 3 use in emergency situations. However, you can of course leave it engaged longer. The longer you use it, the more chance of your engine failing, or worse, exploding violently. :)

So that means it's reachin it's top speed at the normal first stage afterburner? I've seen graywo1f doing some tests, he didn't get past M1.2. The only time he was faster than that was while he had taken off with the then bugged SPRD-99s of which the thrust stayed up till the end of the day.

Generally I've gotten the impression the MiG-21bis isn't really fast, in most cases they're creeping around at like 550-700km/h at mil thrust. I hope that's just an impression :)

I would imagine the "top" speeds are only attainable in a shallow dive. Will be interesting getting used to the two stage burner etc. First few flights are bound to be full of mishaps!

What was his altitude? 700hph equates to mach ~0.6 at sea level, but ~1.2 at 40,000ft. Also, very few planes can maintain supersonic flight without afterburner.

The thing I would like to know personally is if there is a way do reload these systems on the groud. It always reminds me of Mi-8 nonfunctional refueling. I would really not like to respawn each time I want to fly again. Is there such an option? Repair?

Alcohol for radar cooling is limited, especially when ground crew gets their hands on it. :drunk:

LOL. You have some point  Respawn is safer.

No I meant the system for landing . The flaps are getting air from the engine so landing speed is reduced by 20 to 40 Kmh

Did you mean BLC/blown flap? If so, I think there is.

Yeah I mean that.

And another one, in a lot of videos I saw a apu "switch" .

I thought the 21 hasn't one? It starts only with battery or external power.

Maybe we should start a new thread soon about mig 21 technical things
