Hi Maverick and Flanker, I was making some calculations in the mission, and is visble that red side have advantage, first thing is they are at only 320 km from bullseye and about 272km from sochi, in the blue side from vaziani to bullseye they have 422km! and 352km to sukhumi, are 7 minutes of flight and fuel burn of difference, I think to make things fair you should take the beslan airfield as blue fighters airfield, or give 5 minutes of flight to the blue side, before the red side takeof. In the last JW 2 we were blue against 51st, when we arrived to sukhumi they were already over our airfield!.

 

At the same time, I would like to know what side will take all the teams from the first moment they are defined, in order to make all estrategy based on the operations theater of the selected side.

I agree there is a difference in distances but it is hard to make equal distances with such a map.

Timing is part of the planning, when the 51st flew against you they took off 3 minutes ahead of you and got 6 aircraft airborne in 2 mins compared to you having 6 aircraft airborne in 5 minutes, that is 6 minutes behind. If your timing had been as good, by the time they reached Gudauta you would have been over Sukhumi.

 

Beslan does have equal ranges but would probably need some shifting around of the AWACS and tanker because of the close proximity to Beslan for such an attack. This would mean they have to operate over sea which could be a problem with SAM cover.

 

I think the solution would probably be a timed delay in similar fashion to the Strikers.

Thanks for your feedback.

 

It is tricky to come up with similar distances without compromising other aspects of the mission map. Beslan would be a good choice if it was lined up with the coast line. AWACS and tankers, which are very high value targets fly across the coastline, selecting Beslan would mean moving blue AWACS and tanker over the mountains and away from the seashore. That would significantly unbalance the mission from a tactical perspective.

 

I went onto the map again to see Time On Station for everybody. I'd say keeping red fighters on the ground for 5 extra minutes would solve this issue.

Yes Max, as the name suggests, "Joint Warrior" is about joining forces with other pilots and go TvT.

 

Roster-wise, you can PM me your suggestions about who you'd like to fly with and I will try to accommodate as much as possible. Will post preliminary rosters tonight.

As stability improves, we are planning to include a few Huey S&R slots that would give a second go to rescued pilots.

You guys are going against the blue team so I guess they will want to stay blue in game as well. You would then take red side and get that 5mn delay to offset those extra miles.

Hi Flanker, I noticed that Sukhumi and Sochi airports have no weapons, and do not have a refill schedule (left the mission for hours and nothing), it means that is mandatory to replenish ammo in Batumi/Maykop?
