Cobra360 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I saw this pic in one of the Russian threads and was wondering is this the cockpit form the Su-27SMK or the Su-30MKK? Possiblly the MKK-2 or MKK-3. Looks really nice, all it needs is a more modern single piece glass HUD with less frame.
Force_Feedback Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I would say the MKK2, because you can see on the weapon management panel that it has 4 wing hardpoints, while the su-27SMK only has 3 per wing. Ooh, it has the K-36DM 3 series ejection seat, w00t. EDIT: the Knaapo site also states that the su-30MK2 fighter has 5 displays, and I count five in that pic. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Cobra360 Posted April 9, 2006 Author Posted April 9, 2006 Nice one, never noticed to count the wing pylons on the MFD.:D Looks better and more advanced than the MKI cockpit IMO. IIRC the MKK avonics is all Russian based while the MKI is based on Russian, French and Israeli systems.
Pilotasso Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Well now, THAT looks interesting. Would like if that finaly gives the flanker SA like in western fighters and better weapons emplyoment and automation. .
nscode Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Blah... that's not a "real" Su :P :) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Force_Feedback Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Blah... that's not a "real" Su :P :) Yup, they've molestered the real one, I want manual guages. Guess the su-25 is the way to go :p The avionica are made by "Russkaya Avionika" => "Russian Avionics". It isn't in one peace because the outer MFDs are angled inward. The F-35 will only have a widescreen touch screen lcd panel, nothing else. So it will be like a sim pit :p Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Cobra360 Posted April 9, 2006 Author Posted April 9, 2006 I,ve just noticed there is no buttons around the LCD on the right.
Trident Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 The logo on the left fuselage side seems to indicate that this is one of the Testpilot's Su-30s. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1027487/L/ That's not to say the Su-30MKK2 doesn't have the same layout (the original Su-30MKK is different), of course ;)
Guest IguanaKing Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Well...there goes the Russian doctrine of keeping things simple and reliable. Yikes...make it go away. :icon_axe:
nscode Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 No.. it's just the new Russian doctrine - put in what the guy with $$$ wants ;) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Force_Feedback Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 No.. it's just the new Russian doctrine - put in what the guy with $$$ wants ;) The third of the Flankers present at Langkawi was Anatoly Kvotchur's well-known Su-30, '597' and this Zhukovsky-based aircraft has also participated in upgrade trials involving the fitting of MFI-68 displays. According to official information, there are 567 Flankers in service with eight countries." (source: AFM, February 2000) http://www.concise.org/aerospace/archive/aerospace_archive2333.html Guess they upgraded it even further BTW, it is said the Su-27SKM performs in the same way as a canard equipped variant, due to a new FBW system. BTW2: the Rita (Russian Betty) in lomac is soo limited, it doesn't tell you what to do at all, and the voice is all different from the real one, I was wondering where to get real samples of the Russian Betty in action, so I could make a mod for lomac (for the existing entries, which cover only 25% of what Rita can and does say). I have this movie "Zerkalniye Voiny", with some Rita warnings, but it only says AoA over limit, G-limit and missile behind 6 o'clock (that is the way Betty is coupled to the RWR, and it says that a missile is approaching from 4 quarters, but in the movie an AIM-9M was heading towards the su-30 :p). To be brief: where to get Rita samples? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Pilotasso Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 ...ANd thats the way to know where the enemy is before eat up a missile on the tailpipe. .
wasserfall Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 ( I have this movie "Zerkalniye Voiny") Is that the movie with that nice ejectien sequence? Is the film worth having? Is it downloadeble? Intel Core i5-9600K, Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO, 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 WINDFORCE 8G
TucksonSonny Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 This looks anyway different from the first 30mkk published pictures: DELL Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 940 2,93 GHz @3 GHz, 8 MB cache | 8.192 MB 1.067 MHz Tri Channel DDR3 | 512 MB ATI® Radeon™ 4850 | 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA | Samsung SM 2693 HM 25.5 " | HOTAS Cougar Thrustmaster |
Trident Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Yes, as I said the original Su-30MKK for the PLAAF is different (that's what the first few of your pictures show, the last one is a Su-30KN AFAIK). The Su-30MKK2 is newer and serves with the PLANAF (Chinese naval air arm) rather than the airforce. I'm not sure if they have the same cockpit layout as the Testpilot's Su-30 shown here, but they could.
Force_Feedback Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 ( I have this movie "Zerkalniye Voiny") Is that the movie with that nice ejectien sequence? Is the film worth having? Is it downloadeble? The movie is crap storywise (terrorists want to hijack new Russian plane, our test pilot hero won't take their threats, and saves the day). It has lots of real su-35UB footage, at high quality, they even used a real ejection test (I've seen the real one briefly in another documentary), so the scene in which the ejection seat is fired is not fully CGI, the first second is real, but after the seat leaves the rails it's CGI, as an AIM-9M homes in on his seat's rocket motor and kills the bad guy who collaborated with the terrorists, the seat in the CGI sequence burns for like 4 seconds after ejecting :p, even the Buran K-36 didn't have such a long burn time (2.5 seconds on the K-36RB, allows it to fly to 300m from a sideways ground launch and at a distance of 500m from the launch point at zero-zero conditions, the seat is vertical seeking). Bublik Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I'm not sure if they have the same cockpit layout as the Testpilot's Su-30 shown here, but they could. Test pilots' Su-30 597 cockpit is their personal playground, so the layout and software actually may change every month or so :) WR=210=Vladimir http://lockon-vpg.nm.ru http://whiteravens.nm.ru http://white-ravens.com

To be brief: where to get Rita samples? There is no exists a standart Rita voice. Only the messages list is standardized. Usually it is recorded on a production plant, sometimes on a repair station, and sometimes even in a squadron maintenance unit. For example, Mig-29 produced on Nizhniy Novgorod production plant have Rita records with very specific accent. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. airea Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 The pilot of this aircraft reads newspaper during the flight I guess.. Notice the newspaper like thing on the right side of the cockpit, just between the glass and the right instrument panel:)
Force_Feedback Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 But, we really need the real Rita, she says things like: "Failure of two hydraulic systems. If the pressure is insufficient, eject" (Two hydraulic system on the fritz) "Low level in the first hydraulic system. Don't retract the gear" "Low level in the second hydraulic system, airbrake disabled" "Failure of automation in right (left) intake. Speed less than 600 and angle of attack less than 10 degrees" When 3 channels of the FCS are not working she says: "Check alarm of control failure" A neat thing, she also says what to do when some stage of the engine fails (says that you should reduce the throttle setting) Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

This suggestion definately has my vote :)
