leafer Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 I have always imagined Star Wars a gritty and uncompromising space trench war with storm troopers that can drop their targets for a change. This isn't it but it was still very much fun and a good start. :D frdj1zb9sMY ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Yurgon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Coulda sworn I already posted this a few days ago... Inside Man
Yurgon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I'm not usually into Godzilla-style monster movies, but I actually liked this one quite a lot: Pacific Rim Fun fact: A few days ago I watched the final episode of "Sons of Anarchy", a truly great show IMO. I had no clue that Charlie Hunnam, the show's lead actor, would also play the lead role in this one when I decided to finally watch it on Netflix. ;) Bonus point: Sons of Anarchy's co-star Ron Perlman plays a side-character in Pacific Rim. But that's where the similarities end. :D
Yurgon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 A good follow-up to "Inside Man" is obviously this one: The Negotiator
Yurgon Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) The movie hit the cinemas just two years after the book came out. It's an impressive depiction of the horrors and misery of war. While it's not overly explicit from today's point of view, I think it does a great job of introducing the characters and making the audience feel the pain when yet another kid and yet another friend is killed in action. The above scene is towards the end; IMO it's one of the most impressive ones.
Pheonix0869 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 ${1} Not sure if this has been posted, but this is due out summer 2017 and hopefully it will have a Normandy map tie-in :music_whistling:

Yurgon Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Moonrise Kingdom Saw it recommended by a Youtuber. There wasn't a period longer than 5 minutes that I didn't think this has got to be the weirdest movie of all times. Still don't quite know what to make of it. But it's also very nicely done. If you watch it, don't skip the end credits, amazing musical reference to Oldfield's Tubular Bells! Actually, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5uXW5SmUhA ;)
Yurgon Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I stand corrected, this is the weirdest movie of all times. And I love it! :D Kung Fury
joey45 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 But a fantastic movie.. I'm saving up to watch Ghost in the Shell... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
