I have always imagined Star Wars a gritty and uncompromising space trench war with storm troopers that can drop their targets for a change. This isn't it but it was still very much fun and a good start. :D

I'm not usually into Godzilla-style monster movies, but I actually liked this one quite a lot:

Pacific Rim

Fun fact: A few days ago I watched the final episode of "Sons of Anarchy", a truly great show IMO. I had no clue that Charlie Hunnam, the show's lead actor, would also play the lead role in this one when I decided to finally watch it on Netflix. ;)

Bonus point: Sons of Anarchy's co-star Ron Perlman plays a side-character in Pacific Rim. But that's where the similarities end. :D

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)

The movie hit the cinemas just two years after the book came out.

It's an impressive depiction of the horrors and misery of war. While it's not overly explicit from today's point of view, I think it does a great job of introducing the characters and making the audience feel the pain when yet another kid and yet another friend is killed in action.

The above scene is towards the end; IMO it's one of the most impressive ones.

Not sure if this has been posted, but this is due out summer 2017 and hopefully it will have a Normandy map tie-in :music_whistling:

Yeah, it's been posted before. ;)

Anyway, the embed isn't working; in order to embed a video, don't use the full YouTube link, only use the last part after the = sign:

Basically, the embed should look like this, only without the spaces:

Moonrise Kingdom

Saw it recommended by a Youtuber. There wasn't a period longer than 5 minutes that I didn't think this has got to be the weirdest movie of all times. Still don't quite know what to make of it. But it's also very nicely done. If you watch it, don't skip the end credits, amazing musical reference to Oldfield's Tubular Bells!

Actually, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5uXW5SmUhA ;)

But a fantastic movie.. I'm saving up to watch Ghost in the Shell...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
