The F-16 will also naturally have the MiG-29SMT...

SMT? This fat boy? Why not the beautifull MiG-29M/K? And there have been more produced than the only one SMT prototype- 6 Ms i 2 Ks.

"See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89.

Each release contains an 'overhaul' of something ... it started with FMs ... ;)

See the idea?

Well beter low speed handling and enhanced landing modeling would be nice aditions. The suspension system on all fighters are made of rock! ;)

Bubic,

It's not that I dont think DC is not worthwhile, but:

Who's Bubic?:)

- it is a totally different type of AI logic than the one focused on by ED

Lockon, in my view, is all about physics modelling and not so much about gameplay algorithms

It is different because it's incomplete. I disagree. And I think many people desperately trying to add some immersion to LO disagree too. Including ED:P

- there are games with very good DC, I have them on my disc and so can play DC whenever I want. Why should I look to Lockon for that?

As I see it, I like Lockon for its extreme precision. It takes hourse to make a good mission, precisely measuring radar envelopes and missile performances. indeed, the action that follows is more like in a lab than a Theatre of operations, but I like it. Of course, if ED adds DC, I wouldn't complain either.

Man, it's weird... So You don't need sound in LO because You have it in other games;)?

I do not want each game to resemble one another:
It's not a disgrace to resemble another game's features which are simply better.

I case you havent noticed guys ...... its June The World cup is running in Germany :cheer3nc: and if you had looked into HL at this time last year you would have seen a similar picture from time to time.

Allso the discussion about LockOn going down the drain because of decreasing interest from the community was up last year.

And like last year ill tell you ( again ) that this is quite normal cause during summertime people have better things to do then flying the virtual sky :joystick: they prefer looking at the real sky with a bottle of beer in their left hand flipping burgers with their right . :drink: :drunk:

They have to paint fences and livingrooms, mow their gras and they are on the beach looking at babes or taking wife and kids to Disneyland. :juggle: :clown_2:

To put it short they are busy doing things they cant do during the colder and darker months of the year.

And i predict that untill we reach about november things will get more and more quiet and thats , in my opinion, quite normal so please dont panic theirs really nothing to worry about. :smilewink:

LockON multiplayer lives on! It's just most of us go with forums and IM when arranging flights via direct IP connections instead of using HyperLobby. LockOn "performance & stability paranoia factor" makes me reduce number of running background processes to minimum. Others do the same I guess because Hyperlobby is just another unnecessary resource hog and potentional source of LockOn instability.

LOBS will encourage you to be more tactical as a virtual pilot. Flying a Helo is not like flying a mud mover or fast jet, its about using the terrain to disguise your presence, wait for the perfect opportunity to wreak death and destruction, then sneak back into the undrgrowth un-detected.

Think of it like a soldier trained to Snipe. LOBS will be like a game of chess.

MAy the best man win

Cheers

Well I do know this- lamenting a moment in time & complaining about how dead something is isn't going to change anything. Action breeds action- inaction will do the same. Just fly and others will join in. It can't always be busy.

LOMAC has somewhat of bad rap brought on by all the problems it had at the onset- and continues to have to this day with performance, smoothness & stability. The only thing that keeps new pilots around is the support they get from the forums- the ones that get to the forums without chucking the disk that is. The more ED invests in performance, smoothness & stability- the easier it will be to grow & maintain the customer base. (speaking from a western point of view, anyway)

Personally I don’t have anything to complain – Lockonfiles is doing fine, but one after the other of the oldest forums is dying, the latest one is SimHQ, it is almost dead.:(

I forgot about this thread !

In this two months a half a dozen sites have closed others haven't seen an update for some months now - UBI's forum is emptying ...

A pity.

To ED: Don't be discouraged. LOMAC is still a great sim. My idea would be open development(with approval) for the sim once certian issues are corrected. I'm happy you are still improving upon LOMAC. I think in time we will get a DC(and hopfully a map of the middle east) we will just have to wait.

PS: I have not been here in a while(and don't post much) but I can see one

of the threads I started shows up at the end of some threads as being related to threads that are funny.Cool. I hope I have entertained you like you have entertained me with your software. I can't say when but in the future I plan to go to Russia for some WWII battelfield tours. I'm funnier in person and I hope to visit with the developers one day.
