Hi, I use Helios, I would be lost without it. I have been following Gadroc's site for years,, I do know the forums went down. In anticipation for DCS 2, I have been searching for support,, this is the only place I have found so far. At some point, Im sure DCS 2 and Windows 10 will have an impact,, is this the only place right now to get support for Helios when needed? Thanks

newbee (sort of, just reinstalled World after couple of years absence)

 

I installed Helios, in editor setup my monitors, all is showing/working on 2nd monitor.

Set path in editor profile DCS A 10C to c:\DCS World-1.2.7, my install (unlimited weapons).

 

I run DCS, A10 mission,

 

I run Helios Control Center, but no connection is made / buttons not synched

 

?

You probably need to grab the Export.lua file that Helios wrote to your DCS installation directory and move it to the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts folder (you may have to create the "Scripts" folder).

 

The location of Export.lua changed a while ago (I think around 1.2.12-ish?).

I'd like to test the Open-Source version of Helios but at github is 'only' the naked source-code availabe, if I have not overseen an 'exe'.

 

As I have no clue how to compile it for Win7, I'm asking, if there is somewhere a precompiled binary available.

I am not aware of anyone who has taken on this project. AFAIK, Gadroc's version is the only one.

man, my entire sim environment revolves around my touchscreen setups. I dont know of any alternatives for such software if we wind up not being able to use it in the near future

As it has some odds, which have been fixed in the open-source version I'd like to test this new branch. Bit without an exe I'm lost.

 

Would really be a pity if nobody plays the ball Gadroc gave us...

if i dont remember bad, there is a executable in the repository, i remember running it width a Extended FC interface i did some time ago,

I found a problem with Windows 10 that I have not been able to solve yet. Before Windows 10, the setup of the touchscreen monitor required you to go into the Tablet PC settings and make some changes within " Tablet PC Input Panel Features", this option is no longer available. Per the Helios installation manual prior to Win 10, this was one of the steps, the fact that I can not adjust any settings in there has created the following problem.

 

If you move your finger around on your touch screen, it also effects anything on your main screen that is in the same reflected location ( I don't know how else to describe it?). without even opening up DCS or Helios, this can be confirmed. Just slide your finger on the touchscreen while your desktop is on the main and you will notice that it has an effect on the main monitor, so you will actually move or open desktop icons etc. Does anyone know how to divorce the touchscreen from effecting anything on the main screen? Thanks

Has anyone used Helios with Beta 1.5? If so, what did you do to get your previouse profiles to work with 1.5? I just installed the beta, Helios wont load without errors even after I edited the path from Prog/Eagle Dynamics, DCS World to Prog/Eagle Dynamics, DCS World OpenBeta

Copy your old Export.lua file from %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts to %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts.

 

I think Helios still assumes that Export.lua goes into the DCS installation directory, but that was changed a long time ago.

EDIT, I see by default there is no 'Scripts' folder in the DCS Open Beta saved games folder,,, I don't recall if I made that manually at one time or it is generated by doing something, then you can edit it?

Ok,, did so, thanks,, now, I'm missing something simple here but cant pin it down? None of my exports are running on Helios, like the MFCD's etc,, must be a file somewhere I need to copy over?

 

EDIT: AHHH! I copied over the 'MODS' file from 1.2, now all exports work
