I recently tried about 12 times in Dogs of War multiplayer to start up my Mustang and

was never able to do so. I then went into single player mode and it started right up

the very first time I tried. I am playing single player in sim mode, not game mode,

so can someone tell me what the heck am I doing wrong ?

Thanks

They say oil dilution before starting the engine works, although I haven't tried this myself since I've only flown choppers lately.

I am using closed throttle and 5seconds of primer and you can add some dilution. It should help :)

(YEAH I know it is wierd :)

ED have it sorted in the closed beta and will release soon. For now, move mixture between idle cutoff and full rich, then return to idle cutoff, then as engine starts coughing, return to full rich. You will also need to dilute your oil using oil dilute button (better map it to controller).

I'm a little late to this... But yes, ct, this is a bit of a nuisance for the moment but can be overcome. Many use the oil dilute or ground power to help the start. If you have your mixture positions mapped to something easy to switch you can "feel" it out and get the engine to catch by moving amongst the three positions like WildBill stated. That is my preferred way and it works 99% of the time.

Just a newbie, here, and I was on for the first time Tuesday, the 27th. I had a bit of a problem the first few attempts. Eventually got it started by using 2 secs of prime, and moving mixture to Run the instant the engine caught. I was holding the start switch for a few seconds, too. Managed to get 4 starts that night in that manner.

I dont know Solty, but that thread doesnt explain why there is difference in SP and MP, or am I missing something?

If you read the first post, you will see that the OP had problem with starting the Pony in Multiplayer. And he asked what he was doing "wrong".

So I have directed him to a topic where he gets the explanation. Some people there (including me) said how to startup the P-51D in both normal and cold weather.:smartass:

PS. It is just a bug, bugs dont have explanation.

I think weather plays a part...which is why you may see different results in different missions.

If its a bug, you should report it Merlin, or is it as intended based on weather conditions?

It's fixed but not merged. Reported it a while back.
