MBot Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Have a look at that video: http://www.patricksaviation.com/aviation_videos/514/German_F-4G_Phantom Some of the people on the ground actualy hit the deck :)
Kenan Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Actually, what they did was pretty stupid. I wonder how come none of them got penalised for the stunt. They could have easily killed those people and make "headlines". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Crusty Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I dunno fun and danger often go hand in hand, they all look like they put themselves in the situation on purpose, tho probably not at the time fully understanding what a phantom at full tilt would look, sound and feel like just a few feet above there heads:D oo err...missus:animals_bunny: ** Anti-Pastie**
hitman Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I half expected some ground crew to drag the pilot out of his plane and start kickin him around the tarmac to the tune of Highway to Hell. Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot.

GGTharos Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Can you people decide if it's cool or not? I mean, we've seen other 'low flying' videos that have been called 'cool', 'skillful' and so on ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
hitman Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 It was cool, would have been better if they dragged the pilot out of his plane and started kickin the crap out of him to the tunes of AC/DC. Id be mad too if I was blown over from jetwash... MBot Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 I say it is cool, because those people have put themselfe into that situation on purpose, aware of the risks. If this had been on a airshow with a unsuspecting crowd, it would be something different.
tflash Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I vote for cool! It's all about Phantom! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ViperVJG73 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 In the real dogfight they have to so fly with their old Phantom's, to survive. There are "The Red Barons chaps". You can it, but it is ban to fly so. I find it very cool. :D Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
Mobius1 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 "Super-dangerous" means "Super-cool" to a fighter pilot, I would have figured you guys would have known that.:D Stupid thermals...
Starlight Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 being about phantoms, all I can say is that they had some phun. pharewell phantom ;)
Force_Feedback Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Phucking eh! :p and those things go in a nasty spin when pulling on teh stick too hard at slow speeds. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Greenies Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Hmm, I wonder what kind of sun lotion the guys on the hill were using... I'm sure they like their hamburgers well done. I want to get away, I wanna fly away. Yeah, yeah, yeah! - Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away
hitman Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Yeah they had lots of jetwash definately. Cobra360 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 ''The F-4, proof that even a brick can fly if you put a big enough engine on it, and the F-4 took two!'' ''Every F-4 takes off with two in-flight emergencies, 1: its on fire and 2: it's low on fuel.'' Just though I throw in those quotes from two former USN pilots.
Frazer Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I have seen more video's like this, also with low flying, but I didn't have the feeling that they were doing dangerous things. This movie just doesn't look like "professional" low flying. They are just dare devils. I was actually expecting one of them would crash. LawnDart Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 It's cool until someone dies, then not so cool! I love this kind of stuff, but at some point the pilot stops being SH and just foolish attempting dare devil stunts like these. And as far as the people on the hill... Yeah, they knew they had put themselves in that situation; however, I remember an Air Force accident where this exact type of thing happened and the people knew the pilot. They put themselves right where he said he'd be "showing off" (i.e. trusting him) and unfortunately half of them got injured and burnt and one person died from severe burns. I hope the pilot in this movie wasn't using any kind of AB (whether it be low or high), cause if he did, he sure as hell would have fried a few folks on the ground! Heck, even in military power he could have caused major burn injuries for the people. They knew, but really... it's not their fault for being there! Poor pilot judgment and the flying really wasn't that great, just cool cause he's a dumbass! Frazer Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Btw, i'm not talking about the low pass, that is prettey much ok with me and isn't that dangerous (also to mention that he isn't flying over the little hill but next to it, still like 5 meters from the ground) No, I'm talking about the 2nd flyby in the movie where he rolled over more than 90degrees of bank angle. You shouldn't do that when you are flying so close to the ground and certainly not on such a low speed! That "stunt" is a very inresponsible act and way out of line, the guy who was flying shoudn't be in that cockpit! Forum | Videos | DCS:BS Demo1 / Demo2 | YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frazer Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 "Super-dangerous" means "Super-cool" to a fighter pilot, I would have figured you guys would have known that.:D Mobius, it's obvious that you are a "game" pilot and not a real one. The last thing any pilot should think is that "Super-dangerous means Super-cool". I hope you will never end up in any cockpit if you think that way, you will kill yourself, and maybe others too.
