SinusoidDelta Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 After talking to VKB HQ, they said that the new and improved Gunfighter gimbal will not fit in either the Mamba MkIII, nor the Gladiator Pro's housing... so that's not going to happen. About the feeling - I double-sprung my extended Mamba with TM Warthog grip, and that works really well. Right amount of resistance, and not light at all. It was far lighter when I only used single spring per axis, though. Disclaimer: this is not officially supported by VKB using their current iteration of the all-metal gimbal in either the Glad Pro or the Mamba MkIII. :) Thanks for the info. It's nice having a forum member that can communicate directly to VKB. I had mine double sprung for a time. I removed the second set recently due to the one case where it supposedly caused damage. I'm starting to doubt extra springs were actually the cause of that issue though. The space is a bit limited to fit double spring. Is there a chance VKB could let us know what the various spring constants are so I could source a slightly higher single spring?
Sokol1_br Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) I wonder if the Gunfighter Pro with the extension will also handle the Warthog adapter and grip... Gunfighter gimbal was projected taking Warthog grip weight in account (serves as measure for future VKB metal grips), why is more reinforced relative to Gladiator PRO, has this "brake-damper" - "W" CAM profile for balance the out of CG Warthog grip - helped by curved extension, possibility to add 2 springs per axis by one in the "Quest of Feel Simulator"... :) Seems will be the best option possible to fit a Wart' grip. Superior to Tm original gimbal + this "add hoc" straight extensions available. :joystick: Is just question of "when". :D Edited December 29, 2016 by Sokol1_br

cichlidfan Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 This is good news. The only downside is that, at this rate, I am going to need to build someplace just to store all of the joysticks that I own, and I have sold two in recent years. ;) ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Thadiun Okona Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 That's definitely good news for those who'll purchase the gunfighter. Could you explain what you mean by brake damper? The new damping mechanism is a variation of a 'band brake' from an anatomical description, which relies on damping grease and controlled tension.
SinusoidDelta Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Interesting! That's a very clever solution I hadn't considered. Hats off to VKB, truly top notch engineering.

Kailorn Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Anyone knows if there is still planned a Cobra M5 adaptor for a gladiator pro? I remember reading that cobra M5, warthog and cougar would be produced but so far there is only an adaptor for the warthog...
Hermit713 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 if the gunfighter only had ffb, it would be stick of all sticks of all times. i loved the two spring concept of my ch fighterstick, so im sure this concept coupled with the cam profile will feel awesome. remains to be seen whether it can beat the old msffb2. Yes... Good force feedback would be really great, if added to the current crop of VKB's.
Sokol1_br Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Illusion dream with Force Feedback sticks from small manufacturers, no one has the big money needed to pay Immersion and Microsoft licences for commercialize one.

I remember reading that cobra M5, warthog and cougar would be produced but so far there is only an adaptor for the warthog... Still planned. I know that there are plans for the Gunfighter to support the Cobra/Mamba grip. Not sure what the ETA is, however. raresb Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Ravcore Javelin shorten course As the title says I have a problem with my Ravcore Javelin which is as I understood the european VKB Gladiator joystick. So, the problem is that when I pull hard on aft Y axis, its course become short by 25% and I have to pull harder to have it used on its maximum course. It happens for all axis but the error is mostly worst for Y aft axis. Also, if I reset joystick by plug out, plug in or from its application, it is working good until I pull again.Everytime I pull a little harder, its course is shrinking.Anyone with a solution?
Sokol1_br Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) "RIP" Gladiator. Gladiator Mk.II: this very successful product is completely sold out. The product has been designed and produced in collaboration with our partners. This joint project is ended and there is no plans anymore for any production run for this product under VKB control and VKB-Sim brand. VKB is busy with new midprice-range product for Gladiator Mk.II replacement which should include new features never been used earlier in joysticks of this price level. Quality standards should also exceed expectations for this type of joysticks. However, this product is in early design phase. We aim to have it ready by the end of the year but it is difficult to predict how much time it will take to hit the market. There are always some challenges to face like with any other innovative product. Gladiator Mk.II Pro: there is a limited stock at the moment. We plan to maintain the stock with some extra production batch but as this product is based on discontinued Gladiator joystick, the stock will not last long. MCG version is also expected. From flightsimcontrols.com (VKB EU). Curious in know what is the "midprice-range" of joystick market... Edited February 18, 2018 by Sokol1_br
AeroGator Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Although this product is fully sold out in Europe we still have some (quite limited) stock of Gladiator non-PRO in China. Not many though. Sales of the Gladiators non-PRO will stop when we sell them all out. Gladiators PRO are now out of stock but we will still make the farewell batch in late March. After this batch is sold out, it will be officially done. The replacement, preliminarily called Gladiator NG (for New Generation), is in design stage. It's too early to talk about the time it will be marketed. > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator

Take and make the throttle lever larger and angled out for those with bad fat fingers to easily find without looking or with a hmd Seems Gladiator replacement will be based on this base (mock-up of Gladiator model that don't reach production): http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_03_2015/post-15866-0-02340300-1427339919.jpg No info about grip design, but with Gladiator 'demise' probable not an KG-12A.
Seb71 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 While that extended Gladiator base looks nice, I hope they won't go with that (or anything similar). The throttle and stick really need to be separate devices. And each should be usable on its own (so without requiring the other).
