What major combat aircraft would you NOT want to see in DCS world .

"not want to see"? Like in "it would make me sick!!!" or "My eyes would bleed if I had to see it fly over Georgia!!!1" or "I just HATE it so much, I would certainly de-install DCS if it ever shows up in the Webstore!!!!111"?

Just wondering- the Crusader is generally pretty popular (until you find out the Colt feed installation was a real joke, making the whole "Last of the Gunfighters" meme pretty useless...)

So many threads about "who wants X? " of course we want it .... But if you had to pick one you didn't want, what would it be ?

 

 

Never had any particular love for the F-8 for some reason ... F-4 sure, A-4 , A-6, A-7, yup. F-14 can't wait !

Don't tell anybody, but I'm actually the same way over the F-16- it's been done so many times that it doesn't interest me. I think a lot of folks want it based on familiarity- even more so than its multi-role capability, whereas its familiarity removes all interest I have.

 

Want to give me a small-mouth F-16 Block 30 (the F-16N), we can talk, because it has one purpose, and one purpose alone, and it ain't multi-role, and it's not even "real" ACM- but it would fit perfectly with the Nevada map. But anything else? Count me out.

In MP a human F-16 is better then AI, unless it’s not true.

I don't think the F-16 has been done so many times. You can count the whole Spectrum Holobyte Falcon series as a single creative instance with multiple upgrades (and Wing Commander doesn't count).

 

You could argue the same for the SU-27 Flanker series culminating in Flaming Cliffs and bridging across to DCS.

 

I'd be VERY happy to see the F-16 make it into DCS :).

 

However ... in keeping with the topic ... I hope never to see WWI era simulation. Why? Because it'd take up time & resources for DCS to flesh out into the sim I'd really like it to be!

I'd mention every plane that is still highly classified like the new "stealth" planes, F-35, F-22, PAK-FA, J-20, late gen 4+ like Su-35, Rafale, Typhoon, Gripen NG, latest F-16/F-15 variants, etc.

Making a sim out of those planes is just fantasy...

Tell that to VEAO.There developing the Typhoon,Rafale & Gripen on their roadmap list.As for the person who doesn't like the H-21 Flying Bananna.I'm not one of those who hates it.It could be used for a Vietnam map since they were used there for a couple of years.I'm willing to bet there's some on this forum that would actually buy it,including me.:)

First, the "AG in mah Tomcat, or I won't buy it" stuff after the LNS announcement, now this... What is with this community, I can't even.

 

The F-8 would be indispensable for the early (Rolling Thunder) Vietnam-era, ya know.

 

Personally, I'd twist this around.

 

I would not like to see aircraft which were prototypes or had only very small, basically pre-production series (i.e.: Ka-50, Su-25T).

 

Or rather, I'd say, I'd like to see developer resources poured into aircraft, which were used/produced in big numbers and/or were fundamental in historical conflicts.

i dont think this question is TO bad, as the what DO you want questions do not tell what you DONT want, as there is to many in between that you COULD like.

 

but i DO like this community, you put 3 "pilots" together and you get 5 opinions out of it :D

 

for the question:

no "fantasy" aircraft wanted, everything that was produced and used is fine, although i wont buy anything.

Any paper plane. I just hate guesstimate planes spawned only in minds and not even 1 prototype built.

I like the Crusader. I definitely want to see it in DCS.

I might have a few planes for the list. I'll list some examples and why.

 

But here's the disclaimer first: I ain't got nothing against any of them, I would just recommend to a third party thinking about developing those planes that if there is any other plane that could be created as well, do that instead.

 

- F-84 Thunderstreak: Same role as F-86, just worse. I would maybe buy it because the German Luftwaffe had it, but most likely not.

- Variants of fighters we already have and that are very similar. So while I would most likely buy a BF-109E, since it is different, I don't think I would buy a TA-152.

 

In addition to that I'd like to see planes that fill interesting roles, not too many of the same role.

And I'm not a fan of orphan planes, that don't have a proper opponent. But that's not necessarily so, if the plane is otherwise interesting.
