scheffchen Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) Please don't be offended but it aches my heart again and again since 2010 whenever I see a10c being listed for sale: selling the bestest and finestest simulator for such a tiny amount of money makes me sad every time. The a10c product has so many facettes and is made and patched with so much love one cannot understand it can be bought for the same money as a large pizza or an evening at the cinema. As for warthog bird herself; she ages while increasing in beauty. You hear me? No more selling <60 bucks!! Ps: my deepest apologies to poor people. :D PPS: no offense to the other modules (I just own fc3 and dcs a10, so I am biased) Edited April 9, 2015 by scheffchen Pps 9900k, 2080TI, 64GB, ssd, valve index, Thrustmaster on virpil, virpil cm2 throttle, tpr pedals, mfd.
Arcto10 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 This thread has come up before and there are fair arguments on both sides. I would like to point out the following two things though from my own experiences: 1. I bought Combined Arms knowing that it is not really a module yet only because it was on sale. It is very far from finished and I only used it for a few hours just to see whats what in it. I cannot wait for more features in it. If it was not on sale I would not have bought it. 2. I bought 'The Mighty 8' because it was on sale. This was several months ago. At the time I know I would not have time to learn/use the module. To date I have only used it for under 60 minutes. The money Belsimtek got from me for this module was money they would not have otherwise gotten, as if it was not on sale I would have waited until next year to purchase (when I think I will have time...). The developers (ED and third party) do an awful lot of excellent work, and yes sometimes it can be a shame to sell it 'cheap', but it also gets them revenue they otherwise would not have received.
leafer Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Yeah when I see their modules go for as low as 2.99 my heart breaks a little. It's like riding pass a local store with big yellow going-out-of-business sale - everything must go sign. On the other hand, ED usually put their modules up on sale a few weeks before a major release. This probably ain't it, though. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
StandingCow Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 It does have a benefit... you gain more potential customers for future modules. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo

It is a great privilege to fly and therefore we should bleed and suffer and not make a bargain. At least our bank status. ;) Seriously: for instance at steam or key selling webshops I tend to ignore really low priced products because "they must lack something or they wouldn't be THAT cheap". If you release dcs2 with increased frame-rates, better visibility and overall performance (hopefully correct flir) the price should go up to 80 or 100 dollars! :D 9900k, 2080TI, 64GB, ssd, valve index, Thrustmaster on virpil, virpil cm2 throttle, tpr pedals, mfd.
GeorgeLKMT Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) I think they should start subscription based service together with microtransactions, because more money = more customers = more modules sooner. Right? That's how it works, right? Pay $0.29 to pickle this bomb. Bundle with autolase option for $0.49 and receive five gun runs absolutely free! Excuse while I'm going to cry while flying A-10C purchased for 12 bucks. Or play 2 years old 60 dollar AAA game I bought in steam sale for 2.99, stupid developers  Edited April 9, 2015 by GeorgeLKMT ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
cichlidfan Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) You hear me? No more selling <60 bucks!! The price in the e-shop has been $39.99 for a very long time. They couldn't get Best Buy and other retailers to carry it until they lowered the price. 112th_Rossi Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Probably no difference to ED being that cheap given the value of the Ruble right now.
cichlidfan Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) Charge people for a graphics engine? Really? Nah, he just wants to raise the price of the modules after DCS 2.0 is out. Edited April 9, 2015 by cichlidfan ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Eight Ball Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I thought I was done with these forums but...woh Is this something new ? Funny stuff on April 1st, retarded ones on April 9th ? If sales make you sad how about you don't look at them in the first place ? And if it's really to much to bare for you little heart, by all means, feel free to buy one copy of the A-10 every day when it won't be on sales.:doh::doh::doh: Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)

OnlyforDCS Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I have bought most of the modules I own at full price. I did buy FC3 at a sale. I have been a supporter of ED since the Black Shark 1 days. However, I do appreciate these sales. For some of us money doesnt grow on trees. It has taken me a lot of time and effort to save up money for a decent sim PC as well as a Track IR, HOTAS, pedals etc... Im currently in dire straits financially speaking. If it wasn't for these sales I wouldnt be able to purchase any modules AT ALL. I have been waiting for a sale so I can purchase the excellent Mig21 from Leatherneck. It's not cos Im a cheap skate. It's a matter of having food at the table at the end of the month or buying a DCS module. Guess which wins out at the end? I know that to many of you this sounds unbelieveable, but it is the truth. So thank you to Leatherneck and ED for having these sales and letting some of us who are less fortunate, enjoy your great modules. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
joebloggs Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 What about every other top title that goes on sale and I'm not talking DCS Modules. I could list hundreds of top titles that go on sale and eventually make it into the bargain bin. I think ED would lose money if they never had sales, I know I've purchased things I would of never of purchased if it wasn't for the sales. In-fact, I could be called the stupid one, for purchasing things in a sale knowing that I'll never fly them.
Flycat Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hi, bro, after pre-purchased one hundred games on digital copy ways before, I feel free when I see the game at a discount. ED give a discount for their great product, in order to let more people to know them, that will be more virtual pilot in DCS. I will thanks for their kindness and foresight.
