Hi all,

Really impressed by the TF-51 and planning to buy soon the P-51D, but before some questions.

1: my game is currently on my D: drive and so game loading is slow. Is there a way to move it without reinstall to my C: drive ?

2: if I do that, could I have some trouble with the modules I've bought for registering them again ?

Or, if I choose a new install, should I go with Steam or not ?

Thanks for your advices :-)

To answer question #2, no you won't have any problem registering your modules again. It will count as a new registration only if you change one or several piece of hardware inside your pc.

I'd advise you to not go with steam because there are better promotion offers on the ED store plus the steam environment doesn't bring anything beneficial to DCS. You also have auto repair and auto update with the non steam version of DCS.

better off keeping it on a drive separate the one the operating system is installed on...

If you could post up the specs of the computer you are using, it may help...

if there is any chance you can get your hands on a SSD drive, I can totally recommend that. A huge performance boost not only in terms of load times but more importantly completely eliminated any stutters for me. Other users confirmed that. You can just copy over your install, or you can simply do a clean reinstall, your module licenses will all be carried over no problem

Thanks guys for your advices :)

Btw, I simply copy-post the whole game folder to my ssd and, boy, now the loading times are stellar !!!!

Yes,

1) Might be ZA related, turn ZA off when trying to update, also make sure the DCS Updater is running in admin mode.

2) lots of alt-tabbing out to give ZA the ok.

*OR*

2) Go through and add the various DCS exe's to your programs list in ZA. (Firewall -> Application Control -> Click on the "xxx Programs Secured").

Does ED store support region pricing? Some time ago when i bought my modules i was able to get modules on Steam -+ 3x cheaper than on ED store. Back in the day it was limitless, now it depends where u live ;)

As far as I know, neither of them supports region pricing. You probably bought Your modules during one of Steam sales, which are organized separately from ED store. Mind You, ED also does regular 4 sales per year, plus a number of short, extra sales every now and then. In the long run, I think ED sales are a bit better than the Steam ones.

With this little proggy it's a piece of cake: App Mover

I used this a lot to move the entire DCS World and all modules over to a RAM Disk and back again for testing purposes.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

Buzzles: thanks for your tips, already tried all these ones, but still this little problem. In fact, not a big deal, when I play DCS, I simply close ZA.

Lange 666: nice soft, thanks. Three days ago, I simply copy-paste the whole folder and it works like a charm. Also ultra fast on the SSD !

no, i meant both prices during sale, and yes, steam supports region pricing. Eg. if u live in Russia you have cheaper modules by 55-80% by default (now imagine this with sale ^^). So ED sales being better depend on where you live

I see. I based my previous reply on observation from my own market (Poland), where localized, boxed games requiring Steam activation are subjected to region pricing, but the non-localized, digital versions of the same games, bought directly on Steam, have higher, "Western" prices. If Russian guys have it organized different, then well, good for them.

yes, Poland is unlucky enough to be in EU East region, what a shame. Few months ago you could buy from russians but now its all locked :(
