B2Blain Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I am getting back into flight sims. I am interested in flying the F-15C. So do I need to purchase FC3? Or can I just download DCS world for free and purchase the F-15C beta for DCS world $9.99? Or do you added value for purchasing FC3 for $39.99? Thanks, Blain
feefifofum Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) You can definitely purchase the F-15C as a standalone, if that's the only aircraft you're interested in flying. That being said, the Su-27 also features a professional flight model and is a joy to fly. The Su-33, while still using a simplified flight model, will let you do carrier ops which are a ton of fun. The original Su-25 is a lot of fun if you like old birds, but the lack of any kind of modern HUD can be a turnoff to some people. The best value would be to wait for a sale and pick up Flaming Cliffs 3 for $10. Unfortunately you've just missed the summer sale. If you're on a tight budget, the F-15 certainly has enough to keep you occupied for a while, and the free Su-25T is a lot of fun as well. B2Blain Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Thank you! I have been out of the sims for a long time. I have touched anything since Falcon 4.0 so your suggestions are appreciated.

The A10A still flies on SFM, not AFM. The only FC3 modules with advanced flight models (AFM) are the F-15 and Su-27. ED Team NineLine Posted June 11, 2015 ED Team Posted June 11, 2015 F-15 and Su-27 use a PFM A-10A uses AFM+ See the Word file attached here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
feefifofum Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Whoops, thought the A-10A was PFM as well. Thanks, Sith, corrected. AFM/AFM+ is still a great time and will likely knock your socks off if you haven't been flying for a while  THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

B2Blain Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Well I missed out on the sale on this site and Steam. I noticed FC3 is $39.99 and F-15C Beta for DCS World is $9.99. How different is the game play and quality of the sim in the Beta. Isn't basically the same? I'd like not have to pay $40 if I don't have to.

But in FC3 you get more planes. (Su-27/33, Mig29, A-10A, Su-25A, F15C) Serious uglies Discord 4YA - Project Overlord WW2 Server My DCS Videos
B2Blain Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 (edited) thanks for the clarification! But F-15C module in DCS World says beta. Are any bugs or anything else that distinguishes it from FC3? Reading some of the other threads, I guess I have the answer to my question. But I'm curious as to why they still call it a beta, especially since it doesn't seem that they intend to release a "final" version." Or am I wrong in my summation. Thanks! Sryan Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 No, there is zero difference. It is merely a standalone version. Like stated before, there's simply more planes in the FC3 pack, some of them cannot even be purchased as standalones ( MiG 29's, Su-33 ) Check my F-15C guide
