Hook47 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 F-5E-3 in DCS World 1.5.2 This is a lot more better and different than the older F-5E which is still present in DCS World. A preview of the F-5E Module ? Manish I hadn't noticed but that is awesome!
ThorBrasil Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 1-The F-5E-3 was released in which year? 2-The F-5E-3 is younger than the F-5E Tiger II? 3-The F-5E Tiger II is the latest version of the F-5 released? Like the MiG-21Bis which is the latest model. Tarres Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 F-5E-3 is the F-5E, block 3 of the USAF. It's the "mid-update" of the early 80's, fitted with an RWR, a more advanced radar, -159 like the export variants without the "camera mode for the AGM-65" and improved radio and radio navigation equipment along with other minor things. A simple midlife update for the USAF Aggressor force.

Raven68 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Will this plane be available for DCS, this year ? It's anyone's guess really. From all the cameos from last years videos one would think it's possible to see it this year. I don't recall any formal announcements on a planned time frame for a release. I really doubt you will see one until it's a month or two away from release. PE_Tigar Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 i kinda like the way in the mig-21 where you can turn the Afterbuner on / off with the switch. I usually only turn on the afterburner switch when in close combat (or trying to catch up when ambushing somone) but other then that i always fly without the Afterburner (Milpower or 90% rpm) i wonder of the F-5E will work. If there is an "on/off" switch for the afterburner or if its all in the throttle (like in the FC3 fighters where if u put full throttle the afterburner turns on). A small correction here - that is not the afterburner switch, it is the "extraordinary afterburner" (literal translation) switch. You activate the normal AB by pushing the throttle forward. You can fly on normal AB and drain your tanks quite quickly. "Extra AB" is there for extraordinary circumstances, like trying to get away in a hurry... or something. It's switch-activated because it's time-limited.

"Extra AB" is there for extraordinary circumstances, like trying to get away in a hurry... or something. It's switch-activated because it's time-limited. Well no =P im not talking about the Emergency afterburner... This is how it works ingame (and how i assume it worked irl) The Afterburner will activate when you put the throttle fully forward. But there is an on/off switch for the afterburner that lets you have the throttle fully forward (mil power) without activating the Afterburner. So if you Flipp that switch to the off position (down) then the afterburner wont activate however much you move the throttle. So its in fact an on/off switch for the afterburner since the afterburner wont activate with the switch in the off position... Then you have the Emergency Afterburner switch ontop of that but that was not what i was refering to... When i fly the Mig 21 i usually have that Switch in the down position (off) and only put it on when i really need the extra push of the afterburner. Edited January 19, 2016 by mattebubben

Stratos Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 This AAR capability is recurrent. They say no, and after a few days it pops again. You have noticed is a trully different plane right? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
QuiGon Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Will this plane be available for DCS, this year ? Like Raven68 already said, we can only guess so far. But i got a feeling, that the F-5 isn't far away (judging by the F-5 cameos last year and how previous BST modules have been released). If I would guess I would say we will get her this year, maybe even in the first half of this year. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

If I would guess I would say we will get her this year, maybe even in the first half of this year. I've had the same thoughts on it, looking at their previous releases, the "official" announcement was always made a mere 4-5 months prior to the beta release. The official announcement for the F-5E3 was made Oct 15th of last year and the secret about it was out for a couple months prior to that.

King_Hrothgar Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Looks about the same to me. Just a different angle and the back third of the canopy is cropped out in the lower pic.
Rangi Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I am not near my gaming rig now, but it should be easy to get an in-game shot from the same angle and zoom with an AI F-5E. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.

mattebubben Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 what do you mean? There are currently two AI F-5Es Both the F-5E and the F-5E-3 are currently in the game as AI only aircraft.

Yes i remebr all those cameo videos, but now im starting to think they just did it to get the hype train going albeit prematurely. if that were true why hasn't belsimtek updated thier status for very long time? All they have done so far is say yea were making the F5E and confirmed what armament it gets. with some hints here and there within this thread as to what block it will be the E3. there is no official F5 discussion section in the modules section and Belsimtek has not don any updates, like where razbam has been continuously showing new images of the development process of the harrier, which already seems to have a fully Visually moddled cockpit, and that was announced later than the F5E. So im thinking if thier not showing off then perhaps the f5e is not nearly as close as we would want it to be. :/ Edited January 23, 2016 by Kev2go Build: Windows 10 64 bit Pro Case/Tower: Corsair Graphite 760tm ,Asus Strix Z790 Motherboard, Intel Core i7 12700k ,Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64gb ram (3600 mhz) , (Asus strix oc edition) Nvidia RTX 3080 12gb , Evga g2 850 watt psu, Hardrives ; Samsung 970 EVo, , Samsung evo 860 pro 1 TB SSD, Samsung evo 850 pro 1TB SSD, WD 1TB HDD

WinterH Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Nice video of Chilean Tiger IIIs. Kinda neat we can see cockpit footage and apparently a HUD & MFD were placed in their version. May be someday in DCS we will also have a few upgraded old guns like these after mainstream versions were released. I am very happy we are getting a vanilla F-5E first though. Anyway, watching it, I have realized something for the first time, two seater F-5F have wing fences! I've done a quick image search and apart from Chilean ones, other upgraded and non-upgraded standart F-5Fs too have it, while other F-5 types don't, including two seater F-5B. I wonder why did they decide to add it to F-5F, any idea anyone? Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
