"Buddy Spike" - DCS World Online Events

All we would need for this round is a traditional Bluefor squadron to go Redfor *cough* RvE *cough* which could then return to Bluefor on the next run.

This round will see us as Blue, as we have already voted at the start of Test.

 

I'll ask Flame if he wants to do a re-vote. If we do go Red, I'll have to be dedicated GCI (internal or public, depending on if Red GCI is already in place), with perhaps a KA-50 sortie once or twice a week. I'm not a very good -50 pilot and would not take those slots from someone else.

 

I do not mind going either route. What I do mind is fighting for a UH-1H slot with people not on comms that fly opposite the direction we are working, and have to fly a Huey from goddamned Sochi to Gelen or Maykop :( Which is a direct result of the lopsided numbers.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm cool with random people joining the server and doing their own thing, but Tolstoy's Three Teeth... at least have the common decency to look at chat. :mad:

Did already do patrol around a FARP in danger of beeing captured with the l and was hovering behind the next ridgeline of the same FARP in the last minutes before restart, where redfor could have sneaked in a transport heli. Was following the battle over COM1 with the sight from the distance. Felt like a legid scout helicopter. :D

[i know there where other brave f15 pilots taking off against the hordes but tiger and IASGATG got the most stick time that night iirc.]

Technically better missile loadout then the f5e. :D 4x fox2 on a helicopter is pretty gud imho, but

unless flying in a group, I would still take the L, its the most versatile unless you want to attack anything guarded by theese bloody shilkas. :joystick:

Btw I think there is an AI mi8 in gelenzik assigned as QRA fighter, at least I did find a lonely AI mi8 flying at 35 000 ft out of gelenzik direction sochi loaded with upk23s.

I mean gun armed helicopters are some of the best SEAD devices in game imho, but mi8 as Air superiority fighter dunno. :megalol: I think none of the fighters did scan at 33 000 in medium PRF since it was going sub 100kt. :D

Im tempted to learn the Mi 8 and fly it, the ka50 and the su25t this round...im not as good in any of those as I am the a10c though.

I have the most fun in Blue Flag in the Mi-8 doing all the transport operations.

 

It's a piece of cake to learn. If you can fly the Huey, then you'll be able to fly the Mi-8. The two biggest differences are the torque is in the opposite direction, and VRS stalls are a lot less forgiving (think house instead of brick falling out of the sky). The startup procedure is similar to the Ka-50, but requires flipping more switches (like fuses).

 

The more experienced Mi-8 pilots are always helping the less experienced get up and running on Redfor.

 

As for me I need to spend time in the St-25T. I got to attack a FARP for free yesterday, and each time I flew out I killed exactly one unit, and then the FARP took me out.

Mi8 is great fun indeed, I prefer it over the huey by miles. Especially the stronk landing gear is brilliant if you do not have time for nice landings.

The fun of doing full speed wheel landings with active wheelbrake is just not reachable in the ka50 or any helicopter with skids. :D

Lastnight Maykop was not repairing. The mission triggers and pak info said it was but no units were spawning. We had helis making multiple supply runs to no avail. They would get the supplies dropped message and the pak intel said it was coming up but nothing was spawning. For hours only 3 vehicles were there.

 

The F4s also were not scrambling. They just sat on ramp.

 

This was Blue side with ownership of Maykop

It's ultimately up to you guys. I would want to make sure you got plenty of play time, not just GCI. No real worry about eating a slot on Redfor. It's rare we have enough people to fill all the roles.

Just going off of the systems in a 1v1 I'd give the edge to the 21, but in a multi threat environment I'd give it to the F5 due to its higher SA. It's kinda how I see the 27 vs 15 when you remove the 120.

Yes we did because they are our bases to begin with.

The CAPTURED bases get only Mig21 ... like you get only F5s if you capture Nalchik or Vody or Maykop. Before BluFor got 2xM2k's for every captured airfield, while RedFor only got 2xMig21's.
