Greetings,

I am just now starting to learn the mission editor. I am trying to create a single player flight where I can take off, navigate, return and land. nothing fancy. After getting it ready to fly. the mission statrs automatically and flys on its own. How do I set it up where I am the cockpit? I am missing something easy but I can't find documentation or any other idea. Can some one give some advice?

Many thanks

It is always best to not fly too fast or fly too slow. So I fly half fast. :D

When you place your aircraft, you should see a drop down on the right where you can set the skill level or if its a Client or Player (Client for MP and Player for SP)

Exactly, once you put the unit you want to fly, you need to set the skill level to PLAYER.

Hope it helps

Hey thanks everyone. That's the trick. Mission is not for the faint of heart.

It certainly isn't. But once you get a hang of it, you never want to stop building:) If you have any questions - shoot!

And so it begins. You can either take the Red pill, or the Blue pill. (I took the red .... "why oh why didn't i take the Blue pill")

Nah, mission editor is great. It does take a bit of getting used to. It can be frustrating as all get up, but rewarding as hell when things work out how you'd like. Now the LUA stuff in ME, that's going over my head there.

Thanks for all of the encouragement. I was able to build a few easy mission just so that I could do some training in areas where I am trying to learn.

Speaking of LUA, what in the heck is that? I can't open any of those files or spd I think it is.

By the time I learn all of this I could have a PHd in something. Like Nuclear Physics.

LUA is easier and harder than you think... :D You can open them in something like Notepad++, its the language all the scripting is done in... but baby steps, baby steps :)

Baby steps!? I'm still crawling around on the floor looking for my pacifier. What do you do, copy and paste into notepad++?

Thanks for the encouragement though.

Best to you all.
