Callsign.Vega Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Most Impressive! How about three of these for a surround view? For that to work with this large of a screen, you would need a much greater curve and a lot of room. ;) Very nice. Hmmm, my pit will have it's own room in a few months. Weltensegler Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I have the JU6700 55" curved 4K which costs only ~$1200 it can do 120Hz at 1080p and 60Hz at 4K. But who expects or needs more than 60fps at 4K resolution? works perfectly for me and looks brilliant clear and sharp. 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274

Callsign.Vega Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Interesting article here. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/01/whats-the-deal-with-curved-tvs/ Ah yes, I've seen that before. It actually strengthens the logic of sitting center and close to the screen as one would do with a flight simulator. Way cool... How's the VIP mission? I'm in BWS atm... It's not bad. walker450 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Are you still enjoying this monitor? I currently have a 40" Samsung 1080P 120Hz I'm using as my simpit monitor and I'm thinking about upgrading to a 55" 4k curved screen. I will probably be getting a Samsung in the $1,500 range. OttoPus Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 How's the input lag? Does it bother you in close formation flying?
Callsign.Vega Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Ya, the OLED is a LOVE/hate relationship. The 4K 55" Curved immersion plus incredible picture quality is amazing, but the input lag does get annoying. Especially doing quick things like turning the head with TrackIR and using mouse cursor to flip switches in the in-game cockpit etc. It's a good display for immersion but for being super competitive I would go with something like a 144 Hz G-Sync monitor. It will be nice when we reach a state of no-compromise displays. Like 120 Hz 4K OLED with low input lag. Maybe once DP 1.3 comes out and a manufacturer has enough balls to make one. walker450 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Thanks for the reply. I'm going to assume the $1,100 Samsung will give the same frustrations plus some. Speedpad for Inputs | My Simpit | Joystick Damper Mod
Weltensegler Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I don't have frustrations with mine in that price range. just make sure to set it to 60Hz in windows (when @4K) and set it to game mode. Also you will notice first that the text and edges are all messed up because when on PC you gotta put the TV filters down to zero like sharpness etc. and you will have a great clear picture and butter smooth frames. 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274
