Mig-21 more than worth the while.

Have to agree here. The Mig-21 is my favourite module so far. I can't wait for the F-14 since it's my favourite plane of all time and I know LN is going to knock it out of the park.

Loving this plane too, but am I the only one having framerate drop with the fantastic 21?

I mean switching from 1.2 to 1.5 it's the only module that loose performance and it's my favorite. :-(

Come on guys (and girls) please stop complimenting this module so much. I have succesfully resisted the urge to buy this for about 2months but my efforts are undermined continously by stellar reviews and excellent experiences by users.

 

I still have to master the Kamov and the Hip and a few other modules and oh, yes I should also try to maintain a facade of proper human interactions and not lock my self in my ManCave trying to learn this beauty.

I've noticed a drop with the latest update, but LNS has put forward their A game to provide fixes. The current issues are documented and have their attention. So, expect fixes fairly soon.

It's a wonderful module. I'm not using the beta version of DCS yet so I haven't encountered any of the new bugs as far as I can tell - presumably it's all related to 1.5 changes. LN are on to the fixes though, they have never come across as the guys who would just stop supporting because it's "too hard".

 

The quality of this module is what makes me so excited for my favourite aircraft - The F-14 (and favourite squadron - VF-84 - what a Cobra avatar!), and of course their two unannounced modules.

 

The Mig-21 was not an aircraft I had any interest in initially - then I saw a few posts regarding it, I decided to pony up and was hellishly impressed with it. It oozes quality and care. So I went from having no interest in the aircraft at all to being extremely interested and satisfied. The overall success of DCS depends on modules with this sort of quality.

Leatherneck Studios has one incredible dev team. Their Mig-21bis is one incredibly high quality product. All of the DCS add-ons I have are great and even out of a superlative selection of wonderful DCS add-ons, the Mig-21bis stands out, particularly in terms of quality and content. I admire the team & recommend the Mig-21bis. I am sure that the F-14 will be utterly outstanding. I can't wait for that one! :thumbup:MJ

Hi if you've not tried 1.5 yet Id recommend downloading it. You don't have to report bugs you can just enjoy it. You will get much better FPS from 1.5. :)

I 100% agree with OP. LNS made an excellent module with the MiG-21. To be honest, if it wasn't for the MiG-21, I prob wouldn't be playing DCS as much as I do.

 

I started with FC3 aircraft which seems to be a popular recommendation, but they were so shallow it bored me and made learning DCS as well as the planes in FC3 hard. The MiG-21 is the exact opposite, I have a hard time pulling my self away from it.

It is a good module. After the activation issues were sorted (even if only temporarily) and I got it to load again I had some fun. The MIG-21 is fun to fly even if it is a bit old.
