As the title says after the update to 1.5.1 the option to select the English version of mig 21 cockpit has gone. I've tried to both do a repair and reinstall mig 21 module but nothing solved my problem.

Your "Special" tab for the MIG-21bis looks fine.

Check the icon on the main screen - if it says 1.5.1, then all is Ok.

I´m not sure why they didn´t add the cocpkit language selection for the Mig-21bis, but it seems that the Mig-21bis is the most troublesome module right now.

So is there a work around to force the English cockpit?

Yep - untick "Custom Cockpit Livery" on the Special tabs screen.

BTW...

Though FPS are consistantly at 47, I have alot of stuttering looking around with Trackir.

Hi, any progress in that? Can't set EN custom cockpit.

Drop in framerate too, instead the 25 and 50 works even better than the on the 1.2.

There are several English cockpit mods available in the downloads. You will have to install them in a slightly different file structure under DCS 1.5.1, but if you use JSGME (a must for all mods, so they can be cleaned up before updates etc).

Here is just one available English cockpit:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1331077/

This will download a file structure as follows with some other stuff that you do not need:

Full_english_cockpit/MiG-21Bis_Cockpit.zip

Other mods will differ in detail, but the principal remains the same.

To install it, you need to create a file structure as follows:

MiG-21Bis English Cockpit/Mods/aircraft/MiG-21Bis/Textures

Drop ONLY the MiG-21Bis_Cockpit.zip file from the downloaded Mod into the Textures folder, and add the complete file tree into your mods folder created under JSGME.

Alternately, you can simply drop the Mods/aircraft/MiG-21Bis/Textures/MiG-21Bis_Cockpit.zip part of the structure straight into your DCS World OpenBeta folder, and you will be asked if you want to merge folders, and overwrite files. BEFORE you go ahead and do that, make sure you back up the files you will be replacing.

This will not allow you to switch from cockpit to cockpit as the new 1.5.1 system is designed to do, but you will be able to install and use the English cockpit, and if you use JSGME, it is simple to switch it in and out.

I knew that solution, but I was really trying to avoid to mod something that there was no reason to be modded (there is already the eng cockpit with a good enough texture). I prefer to wait, thanks anyway.

I have the same problem after latest 1.5 update.

LN's English cockpit don't work anymore, worked before the update with "custom cockpit livery" checked? Also no mods work :(.

Any solution to this?

For the latest version of DCS there is an option under the gameplay tab called avionics language, it lets you choose between native and English. Setting that from the default native to english fixed the Mig-21 textures for me, not sure how it would conflict with the settings for other aircraft under their special options though.

And make sure you have "Custom cockpit livery" untick from the specials tab. Should work like this.

Works as long as custom livery is turned off and avionics under gameplay set to English.

Hello guys,

My DCS is v1.5.2 but impossible to have the English cockpit for the Mig-21.

I don't know it's important but I don't have NTTR...

Here my choose: "Gameplay" ---> "Avionics Language" ---> English

Untick "Custom Cockpit Livery"

And of course my English textures are in the good path: C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\Liveries\Mig-21_CP\english

Please do you have any information for help me ?

A great thanks in advance, Skull.
