There is a Video i have linked previously that has got a bit of HUD footage (including a rocket attack)

[/ame]

There is plenty of hud footage spread throughout the video including 2 rockets attacks.

The first rocket attack is at 1:49

With the second attack at 1:55

And also to be noted when it comes to the AJ/AJS 37s hud is that its a Hud developed in the 60s (Entered service in 1970) so its a early and imperfect hud.

So it has a narrower FOV then later huds which can make it harder to see all of the displayed information from some angles. (If your head is not in the right right place at all times)

This will be the Earliest HUD of any of the aircraft in DCS. (when the Viggen is released atleast will change in the future as the A-7D/E has a hud and it entered service a year or 2 before the AJ 37 Viggen)

One has to remember that the AJ 37 entered service before the Mig-21Bis did and the AJS upgrade did not touch the HUD or most other Avionics systems.

And the use of Hammerfall is always approved.

I've also had it up to here with my X-52 Pro and Saitek's bad drivers. I've bought a CH Products set up just because of Viggen.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

It also has the most bonkers feature of all the symbology rotating with roll, rather than just the pitch ladders.

Just can't wait to engage the thruster inverter landing on a road.

Takeoff 2:33

Lading at 5:8

But the whole video give an idea of fast scramble from the forest :D

The HUD is actually very nice once you get used to it; and looks are deceiving: it's quite a well featured (and useful!) indicator.

We've made the clipping area slightly larger than in real life; because otherwise it would be an absolute pain to use in a sim.

It retains it's binocular-type shape, however.

I don't believe you but you can convince me by sending me you current build, tonight already!

I think that's a "kortbana" (short strip) at one of the bases in Norrland, not a road base.

So Cobra will we have the Viggen available for the next blue flag campaign as i would love to do fast low level strike missions on enemy airfields :D

Pretty please! :D

I would enjoy sending a couple of anti-ship missiles at the carriers making the Tomcat dudes not so invincible any more ;) (in the future)

Say Hello to my little friends ^^

The RBS 15 is much more advanced with a better Seeker and Much Longer range but the RB04E is also a cool if older missile and has a larger warhead.

In wait for Viggen news - some SAAB Technologies pr0n:

Filmed with a Red Dragon 6K mounted in GSS 520 5-axis gyro-stabilizer. Pretty impressive footage considering it is filmed in 300+ knots.

We should do a joint "exercise" Viggens with Anti-ship missiles vs the CVBG. (Like the current DCS Red Flag campaigns)

Hopefully we can drop the USS Saratoga into the Baltic and give it a go.

Sounds challenging and fun!

Well I'd be happy to fly one of the Tomcats in opposition to your endeavors. That would be a great scenario to play out with competent adversarial forces.

That is one of the really cool things with a simulator, that you could try those "what if" scenarios.

By the way, it isn't that long ago a little Swedish submarine scared the shits out of some carrier strike group commanders outside the San Diego coast.

It would be fun trying to sneak in flying really low with a couple of Viggens as well :)

I actually know one of the Officers on the Swedish Sub during the time they were "lent" to the US.

It was and is a very reliable weapon its easy to control and accurate (at SMG ranges)

It was simple to use and a very good weapon allround and also simple/cheap to produce.

And they were used and exported outside of sweden aswell. (and also license produced in multiple nations like Egypt and Indonesia)

They are especially well known for their use by navy seals and other US Spec-ops units in vietnam and south east Asia.

(It was often called the Swedish-K in US service)

One of the reasons why it suited the navy seals so well is that it could be used pretty much the second you had the barrel / bolt etc above the water.

You did not need to dry it or empty it of water as the open bolt design allowed to to drain the water almost instantly.

The US navy liked it so much to the point where they made a copy after sweden pot a export embargo of weapons to the US during the Vietnam war.

The US copy is not an exact copy and looks slightly different and its called the Smith&Wesson M76.

And how dare you call her ugly >=(

If i only had my M/45 id shoot you right here and now

And ugliest SMG ever?... really...

Two Words...

Grease Gun...

m3_gg1.jpg

And if you can say you think the M3 looks better then the M/45 then you probably need glasses or a mental checkup ^^.

And the M/45 was often seen together with the viggen (pretty much throughout the career of the AJ/AJS 37)

As it was the weapon that was carried by Swedish Ground Crew.

So any time you see a picture of a Viggen being re-armed you are bound to see a Few M/45s.

Well said! Did not use the M/45 to much as my main weapon was the AK5... But I used it once in a CQB education... Lots of fun!

My father was a pilot in the SWAF, he was comissioned to testfly the Viggen so he could write the SFI for the first batch of pilots to fly it, I once heard from my aunt that he quit the SWAF as a pilot to be home more with the kids and not move araound so much, the designation to write the SFI included 5 PCS's in 4 years.

Some part of me is mad on my father for quiting the SWAF, another is proud that he put the family and us kids higher then the prestige of flying fighterjets, but as he said to me last time we spoke. "I was kinda fedup with flying, i knew it and wanted more in life."

Having said that, i have witnessed lots of starts and landings, also been up front in a viggen, thats as close i have got to the Viggen-fighter, regardless if my father would have stayed in the force or not, but now soon i will be able to fly with DCS

While this is solely my own opinion. I believe we are waiting in the integration of 2.0/2.5 and the ability to change maps within DCS world. With out this we are left with standalone UI's for each map like we have now with Nevada and Georgia. If I've read Leathernecks intentions correctly they want to release each aircraft with its own map. So between now and the release of 2.5 I'm guessing that they are using the time to polish the modules. Hopefully we will see then sooner rather than later, but I could be very wrong. As always everything is subject to change and two weeks to be sure!
