Joe Kurr Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Last Saturday we presented DCS World to the HCC Flightsimulator club in Almere, the Netherlands. The first part was an introduction to DCS and its features. The second part was a formation flight around Las Vegas. We had two cockpits on-site, while two other members of our team joined up from home to complete our 4-ship mixed formation for the afternoon flight. People were amazed by the level of detail in the terrain and the graphics quality. Several people stated that they wanted to try DCS and asked all kinds of questions about system requirements, how it compares to FSX, what to expect in the future, etc. All in all, it was great fun to do, and nice to receive such positive response, even from people who don't like militairy flightsims in the first place. 1 Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
Sabre-TLA Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Good job! Great to get more people exposed to DCS even if they aren't into military combat sims. With some of the new training aircraft (Hawk, L-39, C-101) they could still enjoy flying around DCS. Should be even better once the ATC rewrite is complete for 2.0. Thanks for helping to spread the benefits of DCS to the larger sim community. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates

Joe Kurr Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Flying an Airbus from VIE to FRA maybe? :smilewink: You mean take off from VIE, switch on the autopilot, have a coffee break, and land at FRA? ;) 1 Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
mig29movt Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Flying an Airbus from VIE to FRA maybe? :smilewink: I have to admit that I had this time as well, but mostly in FS2004. (I remember flying Bratsk to Irkutsk in a russian passenger airplane :) ) Tried Lock on back then it seemed to be very interesting but I was waiting for FSX, pre ordered it and got disappointed in a way I never was until then (and now). So I began to to look closer at Lock on FC with the Ka-50 just around the corner. Which then totally got me. :joystick: You mean take off from VIE, switch on the autopilot, have a coffee break, and land at FRA? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Waiting to build a F/A-18C home-pit... ex - Swiss Air Force Pilatus PC-21 Ground Crew SFM? FLANKERATOR Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Great initiative Joe! FSX has been there for ages and have gathered a much larger community. DCS is the best flight sim out there but is still in its very early stages when it comes to breaking through the masses. More people are joining though thanks to initiatives like this alongside the online endeavour ...the future is looking bright. =Mac= Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Can you imagine ATC? Think of McCarran with civilian traffic, Nellis with Red Flag going on, newbies flying Hueys and 8's around Tromp and M1A1's crawling along the strip looking for cops to shoot? Not to mention the oddball out at Groom Lake looking for escaping aliens (of the Third Kind). FSX and GTA have nothing compared to that! 1 The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...
