Guest deeplodokus Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi, The default cockpit view is zoomed in too much. Can this be fixed please? Thanks!
SilentxXxHunter Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Press the slash ( / ) on the numpad.
Akatsuki Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) I edited the default view to 75°. It was 48° by default... And tilted the PoV 15° downward. Looks perfect for me. Paste the file in DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C, or DCS World OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C if in 2.0. Do a backup of the Views.lua file before. :) Edited December 25, 2015 by Akatsuki
ReaperSVK Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 go to controls, select the aircraft you want, then Axis, then Zoom view (it is at the bottom), select it and press Axis Tune, move the Curvature slider left or right (depends on if you have it inverted or not)...I always set it to 18 (I have it inverted, as I am zooming in and out with my rudder slider on throttle)...I recommend to do this while flying single player mission, as you can edit controls while flying and set it up as you like it
GADGET Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi, The default cockpit view is zoomed in too much. Can this be fixed please? Thanks! You are right and it is on the developers to correct it We all know what the zoom commands are, but this definetely is a bug
Guest deeplodokus Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 thanks for the replies. i think Sergeiev's is the correct fix that should be used in future versions of the module. this thread is not so much about fixing the problem on my side but rather fixing it for everyone :)
IvanK Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Default Pilot Eye line is to high imo and should be looking further down .... can this be tweaked via view LUA ? The default view results in major Canopy bow distortion that looks unnatural to me. Lower picture shows what I think the default pilot eyeline should be. I tried offsetting the view centre of trackIR but it wouldn't stick either.
El Hadji Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Did you try lowering the seat? IvanK Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Did you try lowering the seat? Yes ... that only varies the default datum head height I want to change the pilots eye line to be looking lower rather than moving head vertical position.
Akatsuki Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 IvanK, i updated the Views.lua again, IMHO it is much better now. :) Look at the attched screenshot.

Zeus67 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 If you guys send me the views.lua file that you believe should be used, we will look into it. Akatsuki Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Did a bit more tweaking, and with TrackIR a 12° tilt down is perfect. Zeus, I attached the modified file below. For me it's the perfect angle. IvanK, see the attached screenshot. Under "default view" i edited the "viewAngle" value to 75 (default was 48 ) and the "vAngle" value to -12 (default was 0). 3
OxideMako Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Just dropping in to say Sergeiev's views.lua is much better for me too. Thanks for the tweak!

Sporg Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) I used the settings for snapview 7-9 and mirrors (viewAngle, x_trans, y_trans). That works fine as well. GregP Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 For those who don't know how to adjust the default view on your own, it's quite simple: 1. LCtrl-] : set keyboard rate slow 2. RAlt+RCtrl+numpad keys : adjust view 3. RAlt+KP0 : save default view Note that obviously, "allow default snapview saving" in the options menu will have to be selected first. 1

Steggles Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Slightly off topic, but cause it concerns views.lua and Zeus is active here, I believe this trackIR fix will help too, if it was added as standard. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2616849&postcount=1 -16AGR- 16th Air Guards Regiment is always looking for pilots - http://www.16agr.com EWRS - Early Warning Radar Script Specs: Gigabyte Sniper Z5-S Intel i5-4670k 3.4GHz OC'd 3.9GHz w/ Thermaltake 120mm Water 3.0 Pro Liquid CPU Cooler 16GB RAM Gigabyte GTX 1080 TM Hotas Warthog: SN: 06976 Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals TrackIR5 with TrackClipPro & Oculus Rift 2x 28" 4k UHD Monitors (3840x2160 each) + 1280x1024
Bourrinopathe Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the tweak. I've just tested the modified view and I have to say I'm more comfortable with Razbam's default view. I'm using an OpenTrack w/ an IR 3 points emitter headtracking, sitting about 70-80 cm (27-31 inches) from a 27" 1080p monitor. I don't know which criterias Razbam's default view is based upon, but with that configuration and the limits of a single monitor I feel like I'm "in the cockpit". For what it's worth I've already been in a Mirage 2000-5 simulator (from Dassault) cockpit and a real Mirage 2000D front seat cockpit. It was years ago, but from what I remember, in that tiny cockpit, the HUD is right in the line of sight and the mirror is really easy to look at. I had to lower my line of sight to check the instruments. It's only a personal opinion (and based on what I remember) with my current simulation rig, but I really enjoy the default view as it is, and I think Razbam has done a great job depicting how it feels being in the Mirage 2000 cockpit. At least, for me ;) Just in case, it could be different with the TrackIR, here's what I see: Default Views.lua: Sergeiev's Views.lua: The great thing is that we can tweak the view to our liking. And if you're happy with the view, it's all that matters  Edited December 28, 2015 by Bourrinopathe /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
Akatsuki Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 The issue i had with the default view was that it was too narrow. I know it's easily fixable by zooming out, but still, it's better to have it right at the "correct" Field of View by default. I edited the Views.lua and tested and found that for me to look at the horizon on the HUD i had to watch slightly upward (which that is not comfortable), so i edited the file again to have my line of sight right on the horizon. I find it much more comfortable now. More natural. I've never been in Mirage though. :) But as you said, we can tweak the view to our liking. :)
