Adding to these mods modified World.lua file, change is to increase burning time of aircraft wreckage (increased from 1 min to 10 min)...
Ok; I raised your degree from "LUA virtuoso" to "God of LUAs".

Thanks a lot. Now we will see how a battlefield looks like. :D

Speaking of battlefields - bit off topic but a reminder that Lilkiki's fire objects are really great to set the scene and add additional smoke and fire to ground targets that get bombed. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2545192&postcount=39

I am hoping eventually that ED adds a set of different smoke and fire objects that can be used by mission builders to give atmosphere to missions and generally improve the look and feel.

Thanks again Kuky your tweaks make a really big difference to how things look in game

Hi Kuky,

I was doing some mission building and testing today and was using your mod for vehicle dust trails and due to the season (winter) had a question for you. Is there any way to somehow integrate the season and/or weather so if it's winter or perhaps simply if it is snowing or raining then the dust trail is not generated? I see already that it goes away depending on the surface the vehicle is driving over.

I don't think so, right now we can't change the effect depending on the season. I might (actually should) make a new feature request to ED for this as I was thinking about it recently also.

Hi Kuky. I was going to write you about duration, but I need to re-check the burning duration.

Last time they won't last longer as we expect.

The longer smoke stack and longer wreck burning time helps a lot to figure out how many aircraft have crashed in a mission (in case you don't see visually aircraft being hit). :)

loving this mod! seeing smoke from far away blow high into the sky really adds depth to the game.

now my question: is there a way to do something similar for buildings? i bombed a big factory and it made a giant fire, but the smoke didn't go very high and it burnt itself out in just a minute or two. would love to make the massive fire go up to like 10,000 feet or more and last hours.

I think it can be done same way as with vehicle smoke as long as I can find out what is the lua file that does it, but then again not sure if people would like it as very long smoke stack with very long duration would just eat a bit of your FPS, especially when you are very close to it (there would need to be many more smoke particles in the smoke stack and they would stay for a long time).

The vehicle smoke effect seems to cancel out the light generated from fire introduced some time ago. I'd love to se an updated version!

Posted
I made a quick and dirty version by combining the smoke effects from Kukys code with a new version of FireEffects.lua.

Thanks for your update!

I love this mod and would like to see it integrated into DCS.

It really adds to the atmosphere of realistic battle scene.
