Headwarp Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I've been flying mostly FC3 campaigns right now, I'm not so great. Struggling with radar. I have quite a few modules, - FC3, A-10C, Blackshark 2, and the p-51D. i even enjoy the su-25T although I'm not great at flying that thing when it's fully loaded. I've managed to land maybe 4-5 times without breaking a gear..Getting there. I've mostly been teaching myself. I can get off the ground, fly through way points, and although I've been playing with labels on I'm learning to find targets before they're close enough to see the labels. Currently only flying FC3 jets, as I'm without rudder pedals until my Crosswinds are finished this month.. have been using the slew nub on my warthog for rudder. I've actually learned how to be quite sensitive with it. I'm trying to get better with my radar usage. A-10C is not fun with this setup at all.. I have to set a modifier. I'm not even going to attempt flying a chopper like this. Once my rudder pedals get here I want to be able to fly every single one of the modules I currently own and I intend to buy 2.0 in the near future. I'm East Coast USA.. if that matters.. Anyway...who's flying and thinks they could teach me some things? TheFurNinja Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016  Been waiting to use this gif! Welcome to DCS! You can hit me up anytime if you wanna fly. I would probably be best at teaching you the Russian planes, but I can also do (though a little rusty) the US planes from FC3 too. We can talk if you over steam if you want. My username is "TheFurNinja" there as well. In-Game Handle: Lutrafisk She/Her

But it'll have to be after my pedals show up. I am eagerly awaiting the invoice for my Xwinds that are due to be completed this month. There's just no way I'd be able to fly a chopper using the slew nub on my warthog as rudder. Hopefully you're still down when they get here. Fur Ninja taught me a lot about Radar in the su-27 last night that I probably would've never made heads or tails of trying to get the same info out of a manual. We have real life flight instructors that will sit in the back of the L-39 or other two seat modules as they come online, and teach you the basics. http://adversarypros.proboards.com/ That actually sounds pretty awesome, unfortunately I don't own the l-39 or mig-21 Ibis module. It's not completely out of the question but presently I would like to gain some experience and knowledge in the modules I already own. And until my pedals arrive, the su-25t, su-27, su-33, mig-29, and f-15c are the only ones I feel comfortable flying without them. Headwarp Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 I should hit you guys up sometime, I never did learn squat in the Su27 and would be neat sometime :) Pman Feel free. The more the merrier. So far I've been flying with 3 other people. I'm still a total noob but I'm learning.. playing w/o labels in single player now and focusing more on using my radar and eyes to get targets.. although a multiscreen setup is in the works to help with that. yxpoh Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 When do you guys play? Was wondering if any of you guys are fine with teaching a noob here?
Stonehouse Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Probably want to put up your time zone or general location eg east US etc to help people decide if it's feasible or not.
yxpoh Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) Probably want to put up your time zone or general location eg east US etc to help people decide if it's feasible or not. Wasn't expecting such a quick reply. GMT +8, usually morning for me when you guys are playing in the evening.. i guess. Yr Fri night would be my Sat morning, yr Sat night -> my Sun morning. Haven't been able to find likely leveled and minded friends to learn together.... Took some time before i found out that i can't land a f15 unless I flared longer on landing... but even then, i am still crashing, though that might be me being too anxious... yxpoh Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Here if you need A10c help. I do have the A10C module, got it during a sale a while back. but since I already have problems with F15c, I was thinking I shouldn't go into something like the A10c which is obviously more difficult though. Are you on steam or ..... somewhere..?
Jateu Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) A10c is actually quite easy. It's a very diverse aircraft. Unlike all the other point and forget aircraft. Not forgetting very forgiving when you slam it on the deck, or take a round through the wing. So in battle it give you much better survival. No steam here just on the dcs multiplayer. yxpoh Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 When do you usually play and also any messenger like skype or anything? pm? Just wanted to know when i can usually call out to you, if you don't mind :D PS: Sorry, that it ended up kinda of hijacking the thread...
