StormBat Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Just found this video on YouTube that was put there today. And yes it's something to see. RAZBAM you've got some splaning to do! Anyway not a complaint just an observation. I thought hey maybe their using the mirage to test their harrier flight mechanics. :megalol: All kidding aside I thought this was funny, Keep up the great work RAZBAM, this was just for some comic relief and to get a laugh, we all need to laugh more in this stressful life. Megaladon7k Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I've seem this issue a long time ago, I didn't know if it was relevant but when I would turn off FBW and pull on the stick my plane would continue flying backwards at the same velocity until eventually it would stop. something is definitely wrong with Mirage's physics. "If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing." -Chuck Yeager.

Rlaxoxo Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 The video was already posted in another thread. But yeah, it seems something is.... slightly off. Ya something is off, FBW Spin switch is used which relaxes the FBW for extra control to get out of spins easier Not meant to be used in normal flight [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Aginor Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Ya something is off, FBW Spin switch is used which relaxes the FBW for extra control to get out of spins easier Not meant to be used in normal flight I somewhat disagree. Not with what you said but your post sounds like you are implying that's the only thing that is off. Even though the switch is not meant to be switched off (I agree) it can be used for that kind of maneuver, and (although I have no sources to confirm that) I would not expect the maneuvers to be possible. I would expect either the engine to quit, or the plane get out of control, or both. EDIT: I know the M2000C can do some pretty awesome low-speed, high-AoA maneuvering, like in this video (at around 1:30) for example: [ame] [/ame] But the behaviour in DCSW still seems... well, slightly off, like I said above. No problem with that, I am sure Razbam will change a few thing about the AFM in the future. :) Edited March 3, 2016 by Aginor DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
JG-1_Vogel Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Lol, somethings askew there. I thought he was going to try landing it on it's tail for a moment like that prototype aircraft the yanks came up with in the 60's while us Brits were developing the "flying bedstead", the one that was supposed to land and take off vertically and then transition into forward flight.
StormBat Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Anyway I thought it was a fun watch and I knew that RAZBAM was well aware of it, and remember even though they are making leaps and bounds with every update this is still beta and there are only so many things you can fix at once and some things are dependent on others, so ya it's a process. Like I said this was all for ghits and siggles. :prop: When it's all said and done though, this will be one of my favorites. it's gonna be brilliant all. Harke Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Hmmm I will use your post for near similar problem, FM with damage, no wings and control ?
SkateZilla Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) it comes down to: the AFM/FBW Accurate to a certain point and this is: Prohibited Maneuvers in Real Life being done in Virtual Reality due to no Real Life consequences? (as CptSmiley said, CG and AirIntake/Breathing), and those limits are being exploited by Virtual Pilots. I've seen navy pilots do stupid stuff in the Simulators that they would never do or be able to do IRL.
