Coxy_99 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Ok so here it is a discussion thread for the lancaster.
Badger1-1 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 They wont share any WIP related topics....Its a shame but its their decision...
Sryan Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 well, you can discuss them. It's on their roadmap. We just don't need to expect screenshots or much in-depth info from the devs untill the time is right :) Check my F-15C guide
Charly_Owl Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 As much as I want this mighty bird yesterday, I don't really see the point of this thread to be honest... but whatev's. Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon
CHDT Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I love the Lancaster as an aircraft, but in a sim ? Flying hours and hours, straight without doing nothing.... interesting ? Some kind of dogfight against slumber !
Charly_Owl Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I love the Lancaster as an aircraft, but in a sim ? The sheer workload of flying it is what makes it interesting. There is only one of you to do the task of a pilot, copilot, navigator, bombardier and flight engineer... There are definitely tons of things to do in the Lanc'. 1 Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon
Silver_Dragon Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 The main problem of a lancaster has not have a multi-engine radial aircraft into DCS: W. Not bad if ED make a light fighter or bomber as guide. The complexity of a four engine aircraft can be interesting to develop (engine control, fuel system, complex multicrew cockpit). Other point to develop the bombing sight system and the bomb bay configurations and respective weapons. For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
Kal-El Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Though there had been an update, sucks. Well back to waiting...... Specs: i7-4790K @4.00 ghz, EVGA 2080ti , 16GB ram, Samsung 512GB SSD x2. Gear: Virpil Alpha stick with Mongoos T-50CM2 throttle, Combat-Pro flight pedals, Track ir 5 & Reverb G2
hannibal Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 if veao can pull off this multi-seat-gasm of a DCS module, i think this plane can bring in many VR enthusiasts to play this in multiplayer online with friends. i would like to be any ones copilot gunner! find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179

The Lanc has 4 Merlins - in-line water cooled engines, and has never ever been fitted with radials.
G00dnight Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) 300 Lancaster aircraft were built with Bristol mercury radial engines. NeilWillis Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 OK, then only 300 were ever fitted with radials - we'll still get a Merlin engined variant, and not radials, so where do the radial engines need to be modelled?
Coxy_99 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 First we need to get a contract for it lol We have faith
Ells228 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Oh so do I or id have given up a long time ago on the whole lot lol Well, more a sense of adventure than faith as I'm that way inclined.

If so wouldnt that help with characteristics for twin engined bombers?
Silver_Dragon Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I think a A.I. B-17 dont help, require some type of pilot-able module to improve complex engine manager. msalama Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 and has never ever been fitted with radials. The Lanc B.II had Bristol radials IIRC, can't remember the subtype though. EDIT: sniped as always I see ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Ells228 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 4 engine model is currently not possible in DCS, we'll be the first if it goes ahead.
Coxy_99 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 4 engine model is currently not possible in DCS, we'll be the first if it goes ahead. What would it involve, I.E Fuel flow, Cut off's, Ignition stuff like that to both engines on each wing?
Sryan Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Is ED making an A.I B-17? If so wouldnt that help with characteristics for twin engined bombers? there's already a tupolev 95 'bear' 4 engined bomber ingame. But ai's don't use the complexities players deal with. Check my F-15C guide
Mogster Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 This would be a serious sight to behold in VR. Sat high up in the pilot's seat, glancing out over the wings with those 4 Merlins roaring. Hmmm :)
