steele6 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Hi All it bugs me to ask this question as I feel bad for asking it, but I've searched before hand on the forums and can't find it. When is the Mirage expected to be released on Steam? when the campaign is released? soon tm? in a few weeks? on Bastille day? ;) its been released on DCS awhile, and I want to buy it, but only through Steam. thanks guys :)
DonJosh Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 cann someone tell me what is the diffrent between the steam version and the non steam version. i dont get it. why you dont buy the non-steam version? i really wanted to know, why everbody want a steam version from every airplane.

The Steam and Non steam accounts are seperate (to some extent). So if someone has all of their aircraft on a STEAM DCS and they buy a non steam Mirage 2000 they would likely need two different DCS Clients to fly all of their aircraft (since they could not fly the Mirage 2000 through the Steam client and they could not use their other aircraft through the non steam client) Since the CD keys for the modules might not fit. And as such those who have all of their aircraft through Steam they need to wait for the steam release to have the mirage 2000 on the same DCS Client/account as their other Aircraft.
ApoNOOB Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 The stand-alone client can use ALL keys no matter where they are bought from. Steam client can only use keys bought from the steam store.
DonJosh Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 But i read somewhere it is possible to transfer/change Steam aircrafts to non steam aircrafts Gesendet von meinem GT-I9505 mit Tapatalk
joey45 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 You can use the steam key on the stand alone but not the other way round. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. nomdeplume Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 They - and all the other 3rd party devs - have consistently said that the module will be released on Steam once it's "released", i.e. out of beta, finished, complete. There's no date given for when that will occur because it's not yet known.
Camembert Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Hasn't the F-86F Sabre only just come out of Beta yet it's been on sale through Steam for a while?
VikingTsunami Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Hasn't the F-86F Sabre only just come out of Beta yet it's been on sale through Steam for a while? Yes it was there in beta, but I think ED has changed their policy on Steam releases. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic18896_1.gif[/sIGPIC]
OldE24 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) ED CHANGED there releases stance about the time steam started offering Returns for under 2 hr's game play 2 weeks or what ever it was for australian lawsuit. They changed because steam changed. Edited April 12, 2016 by OldE24 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2

feefifofum Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Some bad info in here. STEAM keys will work anywhere. DCS keys will work only in the standalone version of DCS, because Valve is no longer supporting porting keys over; this has nothing to do with ED. There is no reason to have the Steam version of DCS; download the standalone, all your controls and modules will automatically be copied. It will use all of your same user files from your Steam installation. You will have access to any early access planes you might want to fly (like the Viggen, Mirage, and hopefully soon Hornet) and patches will come sooner. You lose absolutely nothing by moving to standalone, and gain significantly. If you want the Steam overlay in Standalone DCS, open Steam and click Games -> Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

feefifofum Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Interesting Coxy...Steam has -never- tried to update DCS, added as a non-steam game to my own library. DCS simply updates itself on launch using ED's built-in updater. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

Zeus67 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 The aircraft is under review for Steam release. We don't have a release date, we will advise you accordingly. Zeus67 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 We are working to get this bird released on Steam soon. I wish we could give you a date but since this is out of our hands we cannot.
