Luv u Roie. Great vids.

"I'll buys that for a dollar"

Thinking of the missing body situation. It would be a great retail concept for those who own those modules without pilot bodies to create and sell as addon bodies for the VR users. Like Rise Of Flight sells field mods and weapons addons

I'm sure there are modders that can make pilots, so not sure I would buy one....unless you could send them a picture of your face and they could make a pilot to look like you. There could be a profitable market in this. Patent pending of course....

HD Still Processing:

As Noted in Video Dialog, I am Not running my normal gaming Graphics Cards, they are removed due to technical Issues,

I am Running on a Single Backup GPU (AMD 7870 XT),

Which is actually well below Oculus and DCS' Recommended settings.

Video is Recorded off the Left Eye Viewport, Backdrops added to maintain 16:9 Aspect Ratio.

Thanks for the video Skate, cool vid (close the canopy a bit earlier next time and lower the alarm sound level if you can :)

One thing I keep wondering, how does your perception in regards to the pilot G-limit and the aircraft AoA changes? Does the 'feel' for it much improved too? I'm wondering if it's as hard to get a feel for it as it is with 2D screens.

4:08 or so the hands go off the lap and hold on to the seat for three minutes :)

I let my 8 year old try some of the demos and every now and then something will start and he takes off the headset and says 'No! I am not watching that!' as he knows something scary like the dinosaur is about to come.

I also forgot to mention in the video,

The Labels that are smaller and you have to lean in to read, when Running NON-RIFT/Single Screen, I had to Zoom In to read those same labels,

So it's Definately not a VR issue, the difference is instead of zooming in, you have to lean, which can be hard depending on the angle.

In that case, Use Da SnapViews!

(LWIN 0-9),

Personally, I Customized the SnapView Positions a Lil bit ( Disable Rift in settings, Configure SnapViews Positions, Save and re-enable the Rift in settings),

thanks skate.

i needed to see this video.

lately i have been down about VR.

i was hoping to build a new computer, but news of the high end consumer nvidia pascal release is looking very far away.

and ever since the release of the rift, there hasnt been any games or app that would make it the killer app for VR.

DCS is the killer app for me, but we are along ways from DCS 2.5 (the DCS build that allows theater choices)..

so its a waiting game, and i just keep waiting for good news.

your video gives me some light to the end of tunnel

Oculus Staff is in Awe that I'm able to Run it on a Low Spec GPU, Lol.

Not to mention its Low Spec on ED's Recommended Specs too, so it's pushing boundaries.

AMD HD7870XT w/ 2GB VRAM vs 3x MSI R7970 Lightnings

Compared to My Normal 3 Lightnings:

1536 SP @ 925MHz vs 6144 Sp @ 1150 MHz (though DCS doesnt use 100% of the GPU's it's still at least 2048@1150 Minimum)

2GB @ 256-Bit, 1250MHz x 4 (5GHz), vs 3 GB @ 384-Bit, 1550 Mhz x 4 (6.2 GHz)

In Which case it's going to remain that way for me until the New AMD GPU's come out, as my Lightning GPU's Simply wont work w/ Rift due to lack of Native HDMI 1.3 Support, and Rift Hates the MiniDP to HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 Adapters due to the Display Ports being 1.2 Non DualMode/++.

(wasted $140 on various active/passive adapters,

Which I now have a collection of 1.4 Active/Passive adapters (Startech, Accell, Cable Matters, Club 3D 2.0 Active (which will end up driving my 4K 60Hz TV, and my original 8 MiniDP to DVI Active for my screens.)).

Running a Older GPU, Hinders my 3D Graphics Work, But right now, Pushing the forefront of VR w/ DCS is more important to me.

I planned to Upgrade to a 400 Series regardless this Summer / Fall and demote Lightnings to standby/backup status, Once my Zen Build is complete, the Lightnings will go back into this build, which I'll Use for 3D Work Alone w/ all displays and Rift will be used on it's own System w/ the AMD R9-4xx GPU.

i was hoping to build two monster computers, but i may have to bite the bullet and buy a GP104 based pascal card, just to hold me over till early 2017.

kills me to see these videos and i cant enjoy DCS as well, particularly when i have sim chairs complete with collectives and cyclics and TM warthogs are the ready!

Not as much as you'd think, It makes it about Equiv to a Intel at 4-4.5 GHz.

Flight model is rubbish if it allows you to loop (let alone outside loop) a Gazelle. I You would undoubtedly die. The rotor head is not rigid enough to allow for this, and the blades, if they stayed attached would almost certainly slice through the tail boom.

Someone forgot to tell this guy. Remember the military version is a little more robust.

So the guy (or I would call him a brave fool) gets it over the top and the blade stalls out to the left.

Not what I would call a loop. And how do you think he would get on trying your outside loop??

I repeat, the flight model for the sim is wrong. If he' carried on to pull out of the loop he would have taken the tail boom off. And an outside loop is a joke...............

Doesn't look like a retreating blade stall if that is what you meant. In an RBS event the aircraft pitches up and most of the time rolls to the side of the retreating blade. Looks like in the video it's a nice controlled loop and left hand turn.

Sorry to disagree, but it's not a full loop. The most stressful part of a loop to the airframe is the pullout and in the case of a helicopter the speed would have built up such that the retreating blade would definitely take out the boom. I've seen other videos of Goran Krneta doing this in the Gazelle and he always rolls out of it before the speed builds up and doesn't pull out in a straight line as you would for a full and proper loop.

Anyway getting off the original point and that is the FM in the sim is wrong if it allows full loops as in Polychop's vid. (Let alone an outside loop FFS)

Oh and bye the way RBS in the Gazelle would make it pitch up and roll left.

Except the blades rotate to the right so the blades retreat on the right side...

Anyway how is the resolution in these VRs? All these videos have made me want one because I got rid of my triple screen setup. I'm thinking about buying one soon, but would like to know if the resolution is high enough.
