I'm very sorry but I have to take a brake from this for a while. There is a list of issues with this update but I'll just go with this one for now. Last night I was 1 hour or more just getting into the game. Terrible lag (as you can see....my rig handles the game just fine), the game just opens crappy every other time, game opening in small screen, just crazy stuff.

After a long and frustrating ordeal, I went to check the Hawk out as it was suppose to be updated. I started the mission with the engines off......Have a listen.

The track IR is just terrible, but only for the Hawk (was in a dark room when this video was done so Track IR was working great). Not for any other module. But the video has a pretty strange conclusion. In the video, I am clearly in the NTTR map, when I go to leave......pay close attention to where I ended up.

Whenever I post anything on the forums, If I'm typing for more than 2 minutes, I have to save everything I have typed, and copy it back into the box because I get booted from the forums. I have addressed this with ED before and they have never given me any idea of why. And it gets tiresome. My game still goes non full screen and goes out of sync when I go to full screen, still stops working on shutdown much of the time.

I'm not being a jerk here but come on ED........I'm paying you guys to use this. It isn't working at all.

I'll be back in 6 months or so. Maybe you will have it together by then. If not.....I'm just moving on to something else.

I sympathise.

Does this happen with other modules?

There are instances with the Hawk, whereby the files from 1.5.3 are copied over to 2.0 during an update. This can cause issues. On my system, I have both 1.5.3 and 2.0. My Hawk is not updated and I see issues with the mission planner as well as the Hawk module.

I believe the answer is to completely delete the Hawk from both versions of DCS and the clean install the Hawk module. I am not saying its purely a Hawk problem, but its my chief suspect at the moment!

However, as has been said, we are in an Alpha for 2.0. So I guess we must expect some growing pains.

Best regards

David

Same frustration here, every time you change view..... read write, read write, lag after lag......!

Problem after problem excuse after excuse............!

Planes don't fly right, system don't work but its a beta, beta after beta, more time spent looking at broken crap then actually flying and enjoying the game. Here's your monies worth sucker......!

This stuff cost hundreds of dollars too. $60.00 bucks for something that's broken, excuse me beta, its been beta for 8months and counting......

I know I don't have to play this game so please.

Guys check if you have a malware or something like that in your system.

everything is fluid, functionnal and accurate as intended in both version. for sure possibly minor bug, but nothing like the horrible thing you describe. try a repair or a total reinstallation on a clean and decent system and you should grab some great fun.

make also sure your specs are above minimum, maybe.

the story of the hawk is ...an other story. that one maybe must be uninstalled and reinstalled in a few month,...

I think you better listen to snowsniper. I have both 1.5 and 2.0 installed and they both work so well and look so good it just about brings tears to your eyes if you love airplanes.

I don't own the Hawk yet, so I can't comment. But after reading the forums about that particular module I decided to wait awhile before purchasing it. I will eventually buy the Hawk, but not until they get a little further down the road with it.

What's the point of trying to play a video file with a corrupt Index at the end?

Is that ED's Fault as well?

as for TrackIR Issues, I dont seem to have that problem at all.

as for Window Size and Resolution,

As BigNewy Said, Please post your logs, something has not been setup correctly on your system.

As for the forum connection issues, it's a connection issue on your end, or a ram issue on your end, run a tracert http://forums.eagle.ru

It's hard to appreciate the problems others are having when one doesn't have those problems or can't duplicate them in order to pin down a solution. Like Oubaas, I am NOT having any of the issues you are experiencing. Yes, the Hawk does have some bugs (it's still Beta and the bugs are being addressed), but beyond that, both 1.5 Final release and 2.0 NTTR Alpha are both working quite well on my system. And I do not have any of the TrackIR issues you mentioned either. Provide the docs BIGNEWY requested and perhaps he can help nail it down. A complete re-install for both maps may be in your future. When there are problems as you described but are applicable to a larger number of users, then I think ED is probably at fault more or less. But with all the various systems, and diverse community that they provide their work to, little wonder that SOME will have issues. Good luck and don't give up. DCSW is as good as it gets, even in their ever evolving state.

Your output video appears to be from Nvidia's Shadowplay. Have you updated your card's drivers? There have been at least two updates to Nvidia drivers fairly recently.
