Hi everyone,

I present you UniversRadio, some already know.

 

What is UniversRadio?

 

UniversRadio is a radio simulator for Digital Combat Simulator-World.

UniversRadio is an add-on for DCS and based on an own TeamSpeak plugin.

UniversRadio brings one or severals radios for pilots, JTAC and ATC.

 

 

UniversRadio is a software that interacts with both TeamSpeak 3 and DCS-World (or LotATC 4 DCS), allowing users to communicate through simulated radio channels and frequencies.

 

UniversRadio’s algorithms simulate effect of distance and altitude between emitter and receiver, relief masking, frequency used, distance, range, modulation (AM/FM), encrypting and power of the radio transmitter to accurately render radio communications.

Dedicated radios are available whether you are a pilot, an Air Traffic Controller or a Join Terminal Attack Controller.

Some DCS-World module aircrafts, where in-game cockpit is fully clickable, are integrated in UniversRadio.

For aircrafts with a less advanced cockpit, UniversRadio ExternalRadio should be used.

 

This table shows the list of aircrafts and how radios are supported by UniversRadio <here>.

 

Moreover, an IFF panel can be use to diffuse your ‘squawk’ or to do an IFF interrogation on locked-on aircraft.

For that, use UniversRadio Transponder. UR fighter pilots could check other UR pilots during air police mission. LotATC 4 DCS can scope your squawk, helping filtering for ATC. In-game IFF of A-10C, C-101EB, M-2000C, UH-1H, F-16C settings are functional.

 

Pilot will be able to use UniversRadio EmergencyRadio once ejected, then he will guide CSAR mission :-(.

 

JTAC will use UniversRadio ExternalRadio and UniversRadio DataLink to get and confirm attack.

 

Air Traffic Controller players can use LotATC 4 DCS natively supports UniversRadio and provides up to five radios or can use UniversRadio ATC RadioDesk gives nine transmitters/receivers.

The new UniversRadio Voice Service can broadcast ATIS messages or audio files according to frequencies and locations.

A fictive radio operator can monitor radios frequencies with UniversRadio radios Scanner.

The 132nd Virtual Wing have used UR for quite some time now, on fairly advanced scenarios with multipe human assets working together, including KA-50's, A-10C, MI-8, JTAC, AWACS and ATC.

 

We highly recommend UR, and are very greatful for the fantastic effort Tacno have done with this software.

UniversRadio user can broadcast ATIS.

We are sending the default ATIS for Kutaisi on our public servers as a test. You can log on to our public teamspeak and test it out with UniversRadio anytime, it runs 24/7.

We've been using UR and I personally like using it very much. It adds a great deal of immersion.

To fix incompatibility between different versions, UniversRadio is limited with a date. 0.0.2.4-GB version is limited at 2016/05/31.

0.0.2.5 will be released next week, before 2016/05/31. Date of limitation will be about september 2016. In septembre, or before, a 0.0.2.6 version won't be a time limited version but a registred version.

However I keep an option about funding for new DCS modules with donations or crowdfunding.

I write about new modules implementation, not radio simulation embedded in TS plugin.

1. Sorry dont know Russian;

2. Im a donor and paid up user, I have updated to 0.0.2.5-HC version;

3. My problem and that of 2 other mates is that our UR Status in TeamSpeak still shows as unlicensed.

4. Have done the usual reload etc etc.

Hi tacno,

 

some of our members use the 0.0.2.5 HC version, some others the 0.0.2.5 HD version. The -hd version mixed up the radios in the TS3 plugin.

 

example.

Pilot 1: Radio 1 active (V/UHF in use; bold text)

Pilot 2: Radio 2 active (V/UHF in use also, bold text)

 

So for the one with the older version, the radios are listed as:

Radio 1 - V/UHF

Radio 2 - UHF

 

and for users with the latest version, the radios in Teamspeak are listed as:

Radio 1 - UHF

Radio 2 - V/UHF

 

Is that correct or a bug? The sound on the left/ right is also inverted.
