Not saying this could work, but I noticed no difference in FPS on my rig...

The only noticable difference I noted was the lack of shading and lighting fx on the exterior models. The F-15 skin had no lighting applied to it at all after trying this and when I reverted back, everything was fine. Hmm...

Maybe this works better for low-end systems as far as the framerates go?

Another tip:

Two programs that help increase puter performance are GameBoost (internet connectivity) and GameGain (fps). Trial versions can be found here: http://www.pgware.com/products/

Have you tried these programs? I tried the free version of GameGain and lost 20 fps in LO. Uninstalled it and back to normal fps.

I guess it optimises your system; yours must have been running too fast before.

Hello

I read you have the 7950X2 card?

I just ordered one, what do you think of it and with what kind of system are you using it?

thanks

I applied this and I got a increase of 4-6 FPS, I will do more testing tomarrow. Any increase in FPS makes my a happy camper :D

Image Settings set to Perfomance. I noticed when I change that in Nvidia control panel, Lock On loses quality, sometimes shadows and reflections.

Maybe that's why people losing the details. Try setting Image Settings to Quality.

The fix worked for me. From 12-15FPS to 25-30FPS on the ground with buildings, reflections, mirrors turned on. 50-60 FPS in the air in multiplayer, when it was 35-45 before. And another thing is that it doesnt seem to slow down after I played for a while, so no need to reload from the briefing each time.

I set my AGP latency from 064 (64) to 0, system is still running, gonna test with lomac, and some metal on the background.

My rig:

ASUS A8 mobo, with probably defective memory controller (don't have the guts to RMA it and wait for 3 weeks)

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1mb cache

2Gb DDR pc3200 memory

Radeon 9800 pro BIOSmodded to 9800XT, running perfectly at 9800 XT default speeds, with a custom hacked BIOS from some dude

200gb WB ATA-133 HD

Saitek Cyborg EVO, 2 years old, and the yaw twistie thing is still working like on day 1, try to do that Logitech ;)

Ok, I'm interested in others' test results, with the latency set to 0. As a sidenote, "everyone" (online guides etc) say that the latency should be at 64, but with that set, my lomac gets very, very low fps after playing for a while and crashing some su-25Ts. It starts with 50, and drops to an average of 12 after 20 minutes of intensive Strela1/Igla/Stinger/Strela10/Shilka/Vulcan/Gepard pounding and emergency landings.

Those that had increases with latency tool, what are all your latency settings? (show a pic) please. :)

Have had "32" by default (AGP card), changed to 0, made a chart (like previous one), micro-freezes were still there, reverted to original "32".

I guess the correction of PCI Latencies to lower ones is useful and does produce some performance increase in those cases only, when there are BIG PCI Latency values (>64) by default, for some reason...

It's the game's 3D engine guys, it's all there. ED are doing the right thing stopping LO line after BlackShark and starting the "Next Project" thing.

I'm not 100% sure I've done the right thing, here's a pic to clarify.

Haven't tested the changes yet.

EDIT: Ok, done some 'testing', I just flew around in the 25t, in a mission where there are angry Ruskie Strala-1 and BTR-70ies, they punded my Georgian *ss well, and emergency dead stick landings were a routine. The time accelerations (18-19x) seemed to progress smoother, with an almost continious clock. After I made some wrecks (when you lack speed, or end up on the grass with a fuel leak), the fps dropped a bit, but it seemed more smooth. And although I hit some low fps, this time it was in the 15-fps range. I can't say it improved my fps, but the placebo effect sure as hell did improve my mood, and probably made my fly more careful, taking less risks, crashing less. If I were stoned, I would've said fps was great, I'm not, so I tell what I think happened and not what I feel has happened to my fps.

Haven't tried the dll trick for a loooong time, but then I had a crappy nvidia-fx5600 with nice copper finish and a tv remote I never used ot looked at :\, so I might try the dll trick again, it's harmless, and does nothing useful, but heck, I'm gonna try renaiming the main render dll.

no kidding , I did alot of tweaking and testing with my old 6600gt . There were things I did that would make LOMAC seem like it was running so smooth and faster with that card but it fell down when things got hairy or a crowded situation cam up. The thing just couldnt handle it. Only so much can go down a 128 bit bus memory highway. That card and the 9800 pro had 8 lanes or pipes. I was starting to believe....but the performance was just too inconsistant to continue with a 8 pipe line card to me. Its just not enough when things get crazy. Even though the memory was ddr3 which helped alot... major improvement over the 9800 pro.

Aything that had to do with a PCI slot I set the latency to 32, and the rest at a big fat fookin' 0.

this is a very old trick, i don't even remember it if you don't mention it. tried it long time ago, seemed like a placebo effect for me.

BTW, are you using LOFC 1.12a?

So my 4-6 FPS increase is placebo?......I don't think so. I will do more testing in a few, I'll post later on tonight my findings.

Couldn't do any testing tonite...my internet was/is down. Hopefully it will be working tomarrow.
