I don't think any USAF F-86Fs ever served in this scheme, but some were sold to foreign countries and delivered in this scheme during the late 1960s.

Coming soon to a theater (of war) near you...

Update:

Remember this one is semi-historical... I've only found photos of export aircraft in this scheme, with no nationality markings applied.

Also... the other "sea" camo:

This XFJ-2B was the closest one can get to a Sabre in navy blue that hadn't really been navalized yet. The RL aircraft had 4x20mm cannons instead of the fifties. Nose number 756 still to be added.

Might darken the blue a bit, and make it glossier.

Those gun ports required an excruciating amount of futzing around with the nose numbers... ;) The original aircraft had 20 mm cannons mounted lower down, below the numbers themselves, the fifties unfortunately sit right where the numbers are supposed to be.

jocko417,

Are you simulating some kind of test plane with the NATC on the vertical stab? What is the info/history on this Navy plane your skinning?

The SEA camo looks like Honduran Sabres, but those birds were a bit more weathered. Honduras received the Canadair build Sabres in 1976 and used them until 1986, AFAIK they even added more modern ejection seats to their birds. Those Sabres made them the most powerful Air Force in Central America and were used together with 6 K Sabre Dog from Venezuela and Yugoslavia. Honduras is operating several F-5 Tiger II nowadays.

You should add a moustache to the pilot lol

Yeah, it was the first Fury prototype to fly. Essentially an F-86E with cannons instead, and a modified windshield.

That's cool! I'm eagerly awaiting both of these great looking skins!

Ha! I put a moustache on the Pete Fernandez pilot, but you won't see it unless/until you bail out :)

Only thing stopping me right now from doing a FAH Sabre is I can't find a nice pic of the art on the speed brake. <HINT> :)

The previous Latin Sabre camo schemes are probably a more accurate pattern, just need to adjust the colours :)

Here the best pic of the emblem I can find. It says GRUPO TACTICO on the upper left corner.

Slightly bigger pic:

And is very similar to this one, but in blue and black only, with the eagle in black and the red border in white.

Will this pics suffice for the skin?

Hello jocko417 :)

Is there any chance that You would publish Your skins for download. I think they are marvellous and I really want to fly both your SEA-camo and your NAVY blue on my F-86F. So beautiful!

Best Regards

Michael
