FZG_Immel Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Apparently, there is a key to assign and use to set the mark at which your throttle should go to after burner. Does anyone know how to set it up ? I have assigned it in game, but then it doesnt do anything. Any clue ? ED Team cofcorpse Posted July 24, 2016 ED Team Posted July 24, 2016 It should select between 2 throttle ranges: IDLE-MAX and IDLE-MIL. If you are at MIL-MAX range when you select IDLE-MIL - you should throttle down for restriction become functional.
FZG_Immel Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) but practically, what you do ? hit that key in game ? it doesnt seem to work EDIT. ok it works, but then I have no more AB Edited July 24, 2016 by FZG_Immel [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5
Flagrum Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 but practically, what you do ? hit that key in game ? it doesnt seem to work EDIT. ok it works, but then I have no more AB Well, afaik, that is the point of it. The real aircraft has a detent that you have to overcome to enable the AB. This way you will not accidentally go full AB. To emulate that (as most of our throttle units do not have such a detent ... at the right spot), you use that function to "overcome the detent".
ED Team cofcorpse Posted July 24, 2016 ED Team Posted July 24, 2016 then I have no more AB It works as toggle switch. Press - change to IDLE-MIL range, press again - change to IDLE-MAX range.
FZG_Immel Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 oh ok, got it. thanks I have a detent ony my Cougar, and I was hoping it would allow me to decide at which point of my throttle range, would start the AB (right know my physical and virtual detent are not on the same spot) [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5
Eddie Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 If you want to make your physical and virtual detents match up just adjust the curve on your axis until they do. Simples.
FZG_Immel Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 thanks just did it [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70550_3.gif[/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-H - SSD M.2 EVO 970 - Intel I9 @5.0ghz - 32gb DDR4 4000 - EVGA 3090 - Cougar FSSB + Virpil WRBRD + Hornet Stick - Thrustmaster TPR Pedal + WinWing MIP + Orion + TO and CO pannels - Track IR5
smnwrx Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 If you want to make your physical and virtual detents match up just adjust the curve on your axis until they do. Simples. For the warthog I set axis to linear then set a deadzone of 13, that way it stays consistent, just a lot more sensitive between the detents.
AnnaNass Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 It works as toggle switch. Press - change to IDLE-MIL range, press again - change to IDLE-MAX range. Ok for me it doesn't work yet. I use the warthog throttle. I pressed the button but had still full range. Full range is the usual setting. When do I have to press the button for no afterburner setting?
Eddie Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 If you've got a warthog there is little sense in using this function at all as you've got a physical detent for the mil power/reheat range.
escaner Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, I have a Warthog HOTAS and the AB detent is useless for me. My whole throttle set will move forward or lift upwards before I am able to bypass de detent, it needs to be bolted down to be of any use. And then each time you swap to a non AB aircraft you need an hex key to remove it. The whole design is so bad... I am happy they put this feature, gonna map it and try it right away. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sarge55 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 For those with a Warthog throttle take a look at this thread; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=133199&highlight=Detent%2C+afterburner It shows a couple of modifications which will help with the AB detent. They allow you to keep the detent but make it so the detent can be ridden over without lifting the handles. Just push a bit harder and they pop over in to AB. Check both methods to see which one you prefer. 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
Eddie Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, I have a Warthog HOTAS and the AB detent is useless for me. My whole throttle set will move forward or lift upwards before I am able to bypass de detent, it needs to be bolted down to be of any use. You can very easily mod the detent to make it a push through (as in most real aircraft) such that just adding some more forward force will allow you to go through the detent. See the thread linked above, well worth doing IMO. And then each time you swap to a non AB aircraft you need an hex key to remove it. The whole design is so bad... No you don't I swap mine around all the time without any tools. Just fasten it up with your fingers, then you can happily undo it with your fingers again. Or if you really want to make it easy just don't put the cover on again, it's really only cosmetic. I am happy they put this feature, gonna map it and try it right away. :) Indeed, it is a good feature without doubt, but a physically detent is much, much better.
Dino Might Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 What is the control listing for this feature? I can't seem to find it at all.
escaner Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I just did the toothpick mod and it works much better now. :) I will replace it with a piece of plastic instead for better feel beyond the detent. Dino Might, it is called Throttle Range, in the Throttle section. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
