Hi ED Team,

as far as I know, there is no dedicated EW aircraft in DCS yet.

It would be a very good addition to our digital combat world, if we had at least an AI controlled doable aircraft for a depper combat enviroment. We could use this for stand-off jamming, while human players fight on the front.

This AI unit should have a SFM only, one livery would be enough IMO. Add some ALQ-99 pods to the EA-6B, for the moment with no special jamming function, only as an eye-catcher.

It would be cool, if you could add an advanced jamming option to the ME for this unit, maybe with some ECM blinking function or connected them to the F10 custom radio menue.

Kind regards,

Fire

Proper EW is something that DCS is really lacking. But it's difficult to implement, not just because of all the secrecy about it, but also the simulation per se.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

This wish is not about a more realisitic EW simulation. There is already another thread for that subject.

I only would like to have an AI EA-6B with standard jamming capabilities, such as the German Tornado ECR in DCS. :)

If I'm not mistaken, SkateZilla has a plan to work on the EA-18G(which is even better than the EA-6B), after his A.I F/A-18E.

Edit:

All I care about for the next few years:

As for What If Mods on my Drive:

-F-18E,F,G AI is my Priority

-- 3 Separate External Models (E,F,G)

-- Custom Stores, SFM, Etc for AI, Multiple Cross Linked Surface Animations for AI

-- Custom 3D Models for Stores, Pylons and Launchers not already Modeled in DCS

-- Custom Systems for AI (Not Functional *YET*, Buddy Pod Refueling etc)

-- Custom Lighting, for Aircraft Lights, as well as Separate Day/Night Afterburners

-- Wing Vapor Effects (Still working on new way of integrating for AI to make it more Realistic looking).

-- Over 35 Liveries (the List continues to grow as well) by EricJ, I also am working on a few)

--- Still Need to Cleanup and Fix Aircraft Numbers and Animations, as well as Vapor Animations and New AB Animations for Day/Night

--- Still Need to Finish New Lighting Effects

--- Still Need to Finish Building Some parts and adding details to others.

--- Still Need to Work on 3d Damage Model and Collision Model

--- Still Need to Create Lower LODs (once Main LOD is Finalized of Changes)

--- Still Need to Rig Animate and Merge Pilot Model into Scene

--- Still Need to Work on some Stores Coding for Animations etc

--- Still Need to code and define failures from damage etc.

I know his work, thanks. But I prefer DCS vanilla.

I have only the most necessary mods you should have (external Radio tool for example, if you want to call that a mod).

Besides that: I like the Growler and its capabilities (and design/ look :D) but I also like mid-late 90's era aircraft. The Prowler has something beautiful to me, as well.:D

Maybe after the Charlie Hornet is in Early Access and I Finish My Echo, FoxTrot and Golf AI Aircraft,

I ********MIGHT******** be able to license a Model from the same source to do an EA/6B,

The License Costs are easily done, it's just the time needed to Convert the Materials from Mental Ray to DCS Standards, then the Lighting and Animations etc.

Then Build Damage Model Parts/Textures.

If I did, I'd Likely do a Pack

ie,

A-6A

EA-6B

KA-6D

would love it, but also i wouldnt be suprised, if ED is already working on planes that usualy are deployed on a carrier with the hornet. they do a new carrier for it, so its not that far of to hope they also do the other "standart" airframes that would be deployed on the same boat :)

*fingers crossed*

Especially because:

-it's so much easier making one module w/ Multiple AI Aircraft, than it is to make one module then make another separate module for a variant etc.

-w/ F/A-18C, it'd be nice having AI Aircraft of both the early and late genre on deck/ramp.

Nice to hear and looking forward to your work, buddy. But as mentioned above, I like it vanilla.

So, maybe we could help you to convince ED to integrate your models in the DCS core sim. :)

I hope we also get AI SH-60 Seahawks and E-2 Hawkeyes and C-2 Greyhounds for COD delivery with the DLC USS Nimitz.

There is already a beautiful E-2C(?) in DCS. ;) A SH-60, as well. But the model is very old.

It's an E-2D.

I like the model and both skins (I think there is a VAW-125 skin, besides the demo skin... can't remember the exact wing right now). Love to put it on ramp uncontrolled, as it has its wings folded until startup! Will definitely be beautiful to see it on a deck someday. :)

That said, a Prowler would be a lovely addition to the existing AI aircraft.

Yep, I couldn't remember, if it has 4 or 6 blades but you're right.

The blades are not an indicator here and there are either four or eight blades. To the best of my knowledge, no E-2 has a six-bladed prop.

The E-2C got an update to its propeller system in 2004 or 2005 that came with an eight-bladed prop.

All Active AWACS Squadrons should be running the 8 bladed NP2000 Propeller System.

C-130's use the 6 blade system, E-2 uses 8 due to harmonics.

Some E-2C Aircraft have also had their engines upgraded to the T-56A that is in use in the E-2D
